I DO NOT SUGGEST CAMPING ON SITES 117 through 124 and 125A through 130 if you are a weekend camper looking for a camper spot that isnt in the swamp or has grass or has space to actually move around or that is maintained!! My family had 8 camp sites booked and used for 5-7 days depending when each of us were coming and going.. The sites were LITTERALLY in the middle of swamp.. Most of our ankles even with sprays and precautions looked like we had chicken pox due to the swamp being infested with some kind of chigger that there was no getting away from! The poles that hold the site numbers were all

Horrible camp ground, the owners are very rude, the camp sites are nothing but dirt and rock, the one bathroom they have is completely disgusting and long lines. They have a quiet time which I understand, but playing music in a cell phone shouldn't be a problem, no, they came running up to our site acting like the police over a cell phone playing music. Went into the office to rent a kayak and the owner was giving me attitude then ignored me because he was playing on the computer. They do have a few porta potties that were close to our site but they haven't been cleaned or emptied since

I hate to say it but this place is pretty awful only if your not an experienced camper. There are portable toliets but they reek and don't have toilet paper in them. It's pretty disgusting. I am staying right now and the mosquitos are pretty bad. The place needs to fog the whole camp ground for its campers and make an effort to have better food at the mini cafe. It's beach is pretty small as well. I didn't like walking about 15mins to real showers and toilets. Just think it's not a well layout camp site and they need to put more money into make renovations. The should have

Saw this campground online. Looked much nicer than it was. Lots of standing water. The campsites were way too small for larger size trailers. Would not recommend. The small lake was nice, except so crowded because along with campers, the lake is open to the public making it that much more difficult for campers staying on the grounds to enter and exit with their trailers.

This is not camping! Sites are literally on top of each other - RV section looks like a parking lot. No room for natural areas, no hiking, no clean flush toilets throughout the campground portion.
There is a pic that comes up when you google of an old fashioned dirty port-o-john. It's still there! Camp staff is not clear about electric at what they call primitive sites. We were told we couldn't park our car at the site they gave us. Some campsites were on steep grades! This style of camping is for beer belching, open mouth breathers and I wish them a lot of fun while they are

I came here with my international friends to spend the night. Everyone loved the water sports and the awesome ice cream. The owners of the campground, Mark and Kirsty, made us feel very welcome and I'm looking forward to coming back soon.

What a gem. We stumbled upon this campground when the dunes were full. The grounds are very clean and well maintained.
We rented a pontoon and had a great time circling the lake. Mark was extremely friendly and welcoming. This will be our go to spot from now on!

Spent a holiday weekend here. Camped out toward the back of their sites, "primitive" area.

Overall, a pretty nice place. Staff was pretty friendly, though mostly younger teens and maybe some early 20's.

They have a firewood delivery service which is pretty nice and reasonably priced.

The lake has kayaks available, but there isn't much to explore so it got boring after a bit. I think we did an hour and were satisfied. There were a few nice benches along the beach to sit and relax. Their store seemed to have a decent selection of items if you forget anything.

The showers

Everything about my previous review stands, but I wanted to update it since we have been back 4 or 5 times already this summer.

The drive is less than 2 hours from Chicago, this place is fun and peaceful, and people are nice and friendly. It is my go to weekend spot.

My favorite part of this place is the beach. The lake is small, so the water is a lot warmer than Lake Michigan.

I just camped here for the first time and it was great! Tons of activities, especially for kids. We played sand volleyball and baseball. We took the kids on a scavenger hunt, swimming, and a particularly awesome hay ride. The sites have power and running water. They provide an all around great family camping experience.

What a great find just an hour and a half from Chicago. This resort and campground actually dates back to the 1800's and has a long history of hosting families, couples, and corporate groups for weekends, long weekends, and more.

Situated on Clear Lake, it is beautiful. Not a huge lake (80 acres), this is ample size for fishing, tooling around in a pontoon boat or rowboat, paddle boat, or canoe. It also has a great beach area that is 400 feet long and plenty of space for making sandcastles, playing beach volley ball, or laying out.

If you have kids you will love Mark's hayrides
