I am a mother, wife, and podiatrist. I believe in treating patients as a whole human being and that the patient-physician relationship is sacred. Having worked in the traditional insurance model I realized that this system wasn't working for me or my patients anymore. I wanted to spend more time with patients and give them treatments in a timely manner.
Dr. Tea Nguyen, DPM, proudly serves Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties and the surrounding communities. She offers podiatric medical and surgical care to patients for any number of foot and ankle conditions. Dr. Tea is fellowship-trained in wound surgery. She accelerates healing of diabetic foot ulcers with restorative therapies and minimally invasive solutions.
Big toe joint pain can be due to abnormalities or injuries to skin, nerves, bone, blood vessels, or soft tissues. Since our feet are constantly exposed to injury by walking, running, or other athletic activity, and moving around, big toe joint pain is a fairly common symptom. The most common causes of big toe joint pain include ingrown toenails, blisters, bunions, corns and calluses.
Bunions are deformities that occur at the joint at the base of the big toe. The first metatarsal, the first long bone in the foot, shifts outward at the metatarsophalangeal (MTP) joint, creating a protruding bump on the side of the foot and causing the big toe to shift toward the second toe. Bunions are usually caused by an inherited faulty mechanical structure of the foot.
Ankle pain refers to any type of pain or discomfort in your ankles caused by an injury like a sprain or by a medical condition, like arthritis. The ankle joint is composed of two joints, the true ankle joint, and the subtalar joint. The true ankle joint is composed of three bones, the tibia which forms the medial (inside) portion of the ankle; the fibula which forms the lateral (outside) portion of the ankle; and the talus underneath.

Dr. N and team were great!
I was experiencing a very painful ingrown toe nail in which they were able to see me on very short notice. Procedure was very quick and nearly painless. My toe healed great and I am back to normal life after weeks of pain and discomfort. Her staff is extremely friendly and the office is very clean and tidy.

I drove about an hour and a half to this office because no doctors near me could provide keryflex and it was so worth it! I got an appointment super qiuck, and I will definitely be going back despite the drive. They did a great job & they knew exactly what was going on from the jump. They were super considerate and went out their way for me! Definitely one of my best experiences with doctors and I really appreciate Dr. Nguyen & her staff! I was very pleased with my initial appointment. The office staff was professional, friendly and caring. Everything was clean and all safety precautions regarding Covid were in place. Dr. Nguyen was really terrific. She was thorough, kind and very patient, taking plenty of time to explain various options and making sure my questions were answered. She even followed up my appointment with an email regarding any questions I had. Also they had X-ray and ultrasound machines in the office which was convenient because the doctor could see results at the appointment rather than having those tests done

Dr. Tea Nguyen has been our Podiatrist for years and we love her. We're glad that she opened up her own practice where she can help more people. I am very impressed with Dr. (Tea) Nguyen. I saw her for the first time today and was reassured that she could and will address all of my foot issues. She was very efficient, but not rushed. She approached all of my foot problems methodically and with a very nice, calm bedside manner. In my opinion, and I've seen quite a few podiatrists in the area, she IS the best.

I had a recurring issue with blood build up under my toe nails from playing sports. Dr. Tea used a technique that was able to keep my toenail intact while releasing the blood build up underneath. The pain relief was indescribable! Her office was incredibly kind and helpful and you could tell Dr. Tea was concerned about her patients and spent the proper time with me to provide a solution.

In this day an age its hard to find a doctor that is dedicated and thorough with her patients. I was having some issues with my big toe that had progressively gotten worse over the last 2 months. Trying to diagnose myself had me all freaked out it was gout/arthritis. Probably didnt help that I kept pushing myself running and doing in home exercises.
Long story short I decided to book an appointment to see Dr. Tea. The staff is welcoming and friendly. They took the time to take a X-Ray. Dr. Tea was very detailed in explaining to me what was wrong. She was thorough and answered all my questions

My Mother had an appointment last week at Dr. Nguyen's office. I have to say that this was a very nice experience. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Dr. Nguyen is very personal and professional. My mother was pleasantly surprised. We will be returning to Pacific Point Podiatry. Dr. Nguyen's little baby "Violet" is just adorable.
