Vince and Ida Salerno wanted to live "the American dream". Salerno's Restaurant and Pizzeria originated in Berwyn, IL in 1966. Starting as a small neighborhood bar, it quickly turned into a successful Italian Restaurant serving 95% Homemade Foods and Chicago Style Pizza. We're proud of our family's accomplishments over the past 40+ years and enjoy working side by side with Grandma and Grandpa Salerno daily.

The best Ravioli. This restaurant has the best Ravioli which we canât get enough of. We even buy it frozen from them with extra sauce to have for a weekday dinner at home. They are huge sized Raviolis that will fill you up long before youâre finished. The other pasta is great too and my husband is definitely a fan of their Baked Mostaccioli. I keep wanting to try their pizzas and will one of these days but I keep going back to the Ravioli dinner. Everyone should try this place for homemade tasting Italian food.

Originally from Chicago, iv'e been eating Salernos all my life and im 50 right now. The dining room is closed right now because of this stupid pandemic. However, carry out is still open!!!! The worst linguini and clam sauce. Absolutely no flavor. Tasted like regular pasta. The chef must have called out sick. I've never seen very little clam sauce on linguini and it was underneath the pasta. nothing was on top of linguini. Terrible. I also ordered eggplant parm for lunch tomorrow. I'll review that tomorrow.

I recommend the Sausage pizza with mushrooms.
The sausage tastes like it was shipped from the Midwest!
Pro Tip: they cut the pizza âchicago cutâ which are square shaped. Let the pizza cool a little bit for easy separation of the pieces otherwise youâll have a gooey cheese mess đ

I would recommend Salernos to everyone. The food is amazing. The only complaint I would have is the portions are substantially smaller. We purchase dinner last night the beef sandwich had little beef. This thing used to be loaded. The bread was way to big for the meet. Either get smaller bread or fill the Sandwich like you used to. The pizza was fantastic.

Service was good and so were the prices. The staff was great and so friendly. Overall had an enjoyable meal. However, bruschetta, starter salad and wine (served Yellow Tail Merlot) was not impressive. And I will say though that the pictures do look better than the food actually tastes. The food is like a decent romcom movie. I didnt hate it but I didnt love it.. but would I watch it again? If it was on, sure.
