Lighthouse provides personalized and dignified care across the full spectrum of senior living. Our communities in Ellicott City and Middle River are locally owned and operated. We provide residents with affordable comfort and quality care and boast a full schedule of daily activities designed to foster friendships and brighten lives.
Lighthouse is the "right sized" community where old friends come together and new friendships are built. Residents enjoy a rich calendar of social activities in the comfort of our property, while still staying connected to all that Howard County, Baltimore, and Middle River have to offer. Warm and inviting common areas and apartment homes are designed with comfort in mind.
Living the Lighthouse way means engaging with friends and family in a comfortable community setting. And our program schedule is packed full of a variety of activities to help you do just that. Inside the community we provide fitness classes, special craft sessions, daily "Socials in the Galley, " and performances and presentations by invited guests.
Our residents form strong bonds thanks to shared experiences and daily social activities. Plus, never before has it been so easy to meet up with friends. They are never farther away than a walk down the hallway. And three times each day - breakfast, lunch and dinner - you have the chance for leisurely socializing during your meal in our comfortable dining room.
Your mental and physical health, comfort and safety are our first priority. Period. That's why we hold our staff members and facility to the very highest standards. In fact, Lighthouse is licensed as an Assisted Living Provider by the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. We are active members of Beacon-Maryland's chapter of the Assisted Living Federation of America.

My mom is a resident at the Lighthouse "Village"!! There is not enough kind words for me to say about the Lighthouse and their employees than they have given me the "Warm and Fuzzy's" from the 1st time I spoke with them on the phone! They take such wonderful care of my mom! and for that I am so grateful!!

Just want to let you know how insanely happy our family member is living at Lighthouse! He told us this weekend how much he loves it there. But I have to say, I think the best thing about it is… The food! He cannot stop raving about Chef Eric and the wonderful, delicious food! Today he said that the cornbread is as good as his sister used to make and that it tastes like cake! But there are other wonderful things, too… Like the warm and friendly welcome he has received from everyone on the staff, the beautiful grounds for walking or sitting outside reading on a pretty day... and I’m sure much

It was wonderful working with the residents and staff.overall my experience was good, however there was a lot of tone policing of there(black) staff.I’m only writing this review in hopes that the management sees this and work on how they police there black staff when it comes to how they communicate talk or express them selfs Verbally this isn’t to bash the company, however this is something that needs to change.

My father spent the last three years of his life at Lighthouse in their memory care facility ("The Village"). I will be forever grateful for the incredible caring of their staff, their constant commitment and dedication to keeping Dad engaged, well fed, and entertained. When I visited, I could watch him interact with everyone and he was genuinely happy and felt safe and comfortable. You really can't ask for anything more than that.
That said, we looked at a lot of memory care facilities before selecting Lighthouse. We chose Lighthouse because:

My 91 year old parents (mom and dad) have been residents of the Lighthouse in Ellicott City for 9 months and it has been an incredible experience for both of them. The dedicated care they get every day is loving and compassionate. There are so many activities for both. Exercise every morning, tons of activities and events, bead making days, greeting card making days, bingo, games, tons of live entertainment and lots of outings....there is always something special happening. The Activities Director is phenomenal. Carolyn is constantly planning daily activities that fits all of the residents.

My friend loves Lighthouse for her Mom. SHe's made so many friends there and is so much more active than she was. Her last facility had constant staff changes and that's hasn't been the case here. I was there for a visit the other day and was impressed with how lively it is. I thought I'd leave a few words.

I love this place. They have been providing care for my Loved One for almost fives (5) years. My Loved One came in under weight and with other medical issues including an enlarged prostate and catheter. Through proper medical care, dedication to making sure medications were taken, a healthy diet and a customized personal environment, healthy weight was achieved, the catheter was removed, and life is so much better.
The management staff have been respectful, attentive, and have worked with me to establish happy, safe and sustainable care. Even when my LOVED One got agitated and was combative with

Truly the most unprofessional management staff I’ve ever encountered. The Executive Director made me very uncomfortable, asking numerous questions about the previous facility my loved one had come from. Her tone was derogatory and demeaning. Additionally, she couldn’t keep anything straight, confusing information and making me feel like I was on trial. I had first encountered her at the reception desk and thought her inane chatter bizarre. Much to my surprise, she was just covering the front desk while the receptionist was at lunch. The Delegating Nurse wasn’t much better. I am so glad we

Maybe not the best place for someone with a plethora of medical conditions, but for my loved one (diabetes, dementia, cataracts) this place is wonderful. He is so happy here. Really feels that he has a purpose and that this is his community. I can't imagine a better place for him. Pricey, but worth it to have him safe and treated like a valued human being.
