I couldn't' have asked for a better law firm to assist me with my divorce. John Gilhart gave me great advice and also had specific insight of the personality of my husband. Family First Legal Group is an amazing firm to go to for family issues. Although I was not ready to finalize my stuff at the time Attorney John Gilhart, Megan Sanford and Paralegal Jenna were always right there for me. They answered any questions I had and made legal issues easy to understand. They were always prompt in getting what I needed accomplished. No wonder they have a 4.9 star rating! My review below was flagged by the company and taken down by Google within an hour! Don't believe the hype! AND I received a snotty email from Family First after they saw my review, about how I would not be a good fit for them, AFTER I'd already moved on!
BLUF: Two years of COVID and they still haven't figured out a way to meet in person and want $350+ for a Zoom meeting. I also didn't get the impression they're fighters. Savvy and communicative, maybe, but the right choice for a hard and complicated custody situation? Not convinced

When I first filed for divorce, I went to one of those swanky law firms downtown on Third Avenue South. They took my money (60K in the end) and I ended up no better off then when I walked in, to be honest. Yes, there were judgements, but nothing was ever inforced. Then I found Alex Peterson at Family First Legal Group and he went above and beyond. He didn't hesitate to go after the judgements (child support, etc.) on file, and got the ball rolling after years of no movement by the courts. DON'T BOTHER!
They start out so professional, attentive and friendly...and then...nothing. Broken promises, emails and phone calls not returned. This is what gives attorneys a bad name.
After they took the retainer, we had a pleasant visit with the attorney. Everything was spelled out and agreed upon. The attorney said this was cut and dry, not complicated. We reiterated the facts and she said she would write up the paperwork either by the end of the day or definitely by tomorrow!
After a week with nothing, I called to complain. Apparently, the attorney had some questions...things we had

I wished things had worked out with this group. I asked specifically and requested that they call me from a "no caller ID". Amanda was very kind and listened well. When my time came the attorney called on a regular line and mg husband saw it and called back which resulted in me being even more sure of my decision to leave but the call put me in harms way. She left a brief disgruntled vm. I'm assuming the lawyer read the intake notes and sees my "spouse" is violent and will be if he sees the number and calls it back so Amanda marked this call to be put on a private line

They assisted me with an uncontested divorce. I couldn't have asked for a smoother process. They were clear and precise with what they wanted and made the process short and sweet.
