Located in Berkeley, California, the Berkeley Herbal Center (BHC) is a Western herbal medicine school that operates as an independent, nonprofit organization. Dynamic training includes lectures, small group sessions, 1-on-1 case reviews with faculty, and maintenance of an on-site dispensary in support of an Herbal Clinic that sees hundreds of patients annually.
Our long-term Clinical Herbalist Certification Program is for students that want to train and be certified as Clinical Western Herbalists. Feel confident in starting a private herbal practice, working in a community clinic, creating an herbal product line, or embarking on herbal education career!

This online herbalism course is designed for the serious herbal scholar wanting to be mentored in clinical herbalism. In this interactive course, you will acquire the skills to help bring traditional herbal healing to your community. At the end of this course, you will receive a certification of completion for the first year in your herbal studies.
The Berkeley Herbal Center Apprenticeship Program provides a complete training in Western Herbal Medicine, leading to an official BHC herbal certification. In our 600-hour Herbal Apprenticeship, students receive an intensive education in local plants and their healing properties through theoretical and experiential learning, botanical field study, and medicine making.

I registered for a class, payed the fees and even received a confirmation email closer to the date of class to confirm enrollment. I drove an hour out to their Pleasant Hill location only to find a deserted campus. No one picked up the phone when I called, and I was left in total confusion.
They never bothered informing me that they had cancelled the class and didn't even refund me until I finally got in touch with someone over email to get answers.
