Do NOT use this firm. Ms. Messman is a liar, arrogant, and she will cheat you out of your money. She told me she would give me a $50 discount on her hourly rate, but it turned out that the discounted rate was her actual rate. While discussing strategy for my divorce case, she suggested that we lie to opposing counsel regarding our intentions with the case. I had to tell her I would not be dishonest in any part of the case. My initial escrow deposit was running low as we neared the final filing. I paid what she suggested to get us to the end of the case even though I didn't think she would need

She was good about getting my case to I what needed for myself and my daughter. Unfortunately I never heard one thing about my case; I never would receive feedback when I called multiple times. Also I STILL haven’t received any of my legal documentation that I need to now SEARCH AND HUNT the court systems in all throughout the Hampton roads area to try and find my documentation, that I of course now have to pay an arm and a leg for.

Wow, just incredible. Staff has been very impressive too. She went past and beyond my expectations more than once or twice now. Nothing like other lawyers I've experienced. Very exciting and great to watch in the courtroom, fighting and proving my innocence. I felt like jumping out of my seat and yelling "Yeah." I feel she cared deeply about me and my loved ones.

Went through five attorneys all they did was lie to me and confuse me and took advantage of me wanting to be my son's life. They all ripped me off ..At the end of this Mrs Messman became my six lawyer and she was a knight in shining armour and protected me and gave me honest and the best representation possible on a messy custody battle. Mykell Messman is amazing. I originally started with another lawyer and was getting nowhere. Messman was highly recommended to me by several sheriff deputies who had seen her in action. She is brutally honest which I respected. She didnt try to make me spend my hard earned money in areas that werent unnecessary. I was going through an extremely difficult divorce with a sociopath. Mykell has a reputation for being a "bulldog" in court. She is very good with words and speaks well during her initial consultation. She even talked about God and justice...blah blah blah. I felt at such peace when I left her practice after our first meeting. That was the last time I had that feeling with her... My husband and I were trying to get more visitation with his kids and with everything that his ex was doing, it should have been an easy case. We just wanted every other weekend, half the summer and to meet at a halfway point

I wish there was an option for zero stars!!!! STAY AWAY!!!!! SHE IS RUDE, CONDESCENDING, AND UNAVAILABLE!!! She represented a friend of mine and I recently overheard their entire conversation when I was called on accident. I could not believe this was a professional that she was talking to in a meeting. She will take your money and you will never talk to her. You will be her paralegals client. I did hear her admit that the bill was wrong. From the reviews on here, I can see that most people have had a hard time with her on a communication level. I work with over 12000 people and I plan on telling

I spoke to Ms. Messman at the initial consultation and never again over the course of a year. The office fumbled around with my paperwork and unnecessarily delayed my divorce until my amicable divorce with no kids took a year when others I knew took just months! The office also never reached out to me unless they were looking for more money and I pretty much had to nag the cap out of them to get anything done. They even informed my ex about the divorce before I was aware. I found out online by checking the court websites! Pretty much the most frustrating year of my life.
