In keeping the tradition of the early craftsmen, each Benicia product is handcrafted using time honored techniques and the finest materials. The artistry of handcrafting each Benicia product begins by cutting, bending, drilling and welding each product completely by hand. Then, the decorative castings are formed by pouring molten aluminum into a mold.

Our Iron Beds are all handcrafted in our factory located in California where we pride ourselves on every product we create for over 80 years. Almost all our our designs are available in any of our ultra durable finishes and all 5 sizes, Twin, Full, Queen, Cal King and Standard King. We offer over many styles ranging from Antique Reproductions to Progressive Designs.
Our Daybeds are perfect for so many rooms, be it a toddlers, a teens or a guest room, nothing beats the daybed for function and beauty. All daybeds come standard with a spring unit but a roll out, pop up trundle can be added as an extra. All of our daybeds are handcrafted in our Southern California family owned factory where the highest standards of quality and safety come first in all of our products.
Benicia Foundry & Iron Works products are finished with a lead-free, non-toxic powder paint. This finishing is electrostatically applied as a dry epoxy powder, then actually melted onto the metal. This environmentally friendly process is the most durable, chip resistant finish available. Both the Sandstone finish and Antique Black finish are hand-applied, therefore variations in pattern should be expected.

So disappointed! The birds are not chirping sweetly to each other but are lined up looking DOWN ready to attack the sleeping occupant like a Hitchcock horror film! The birds should be set at angles (as shown on the website) not to the whim of a clearly uninspired welder. $900 for just the headboard 😩 How did this pass QC?

I am having enormous difficulty with a transaction involving a bed frame...and Benicia Foundry and Ironworks, along with their delivery service Pilot, have been irresponsible and incompetent and I'm try to get in touch with the general manager and/or owner to discuss this? We ordered an iron bed a couple of years ago. Our primary reason for replacing our bed was because the previous one did not have enough support. We ordered new mattresses at the same time as the bed. I wish that they had told us before we ordered that their beds are designed for 60" queen mattresses and many manufacturers are now skimping and making their mattresses 59". It is a never ending fight to keep the foundation on the side rails of the bed, and now I'm afraid the foundation is warped because it is almost impossible. It's very disappointing to have bought a quality

I’m unsure how a company that prides itself on manufacturing quality products can be so clueless when it comes to customer service. Before I made my $1,000 purchase, I emailed Benicia and inquired if there were any upcoming promotions or sales. I received a short reply informing me that nothing was planned, free shipping is all they offered. Based on that reply, I purchased the iron bed I wanted on their website.

So I bought a bed. I asked them to hold it until I finished painting the room it was going in. They said they were fine with doing so, that customers often left things for months until they were picked up. However, they called me every week or two to ask when I was picking up my bed. I was finally able to get it delivered and when the delivery company I hired showed up to load it they did not have the whole bed. They had neglected to make the box spring frame. They assured me it would be delivered the next day. I explained I was having a mattress delivered in two days. They said not problem. It

I have a bed and side tables from Benicia Foundry & iron works that was built over 20 years ago, that is now falling apart...but is pretty nice looking, so I thought I'd get a new one.
Bad idea! Quality is much poorer than much less expensive beds and the customer service is horrible.
How this once proud company is still in business is puzzling to say the least

We purchased the Homewood Iron Bed with eight birds perched on the top rail of the headboard. The quality of the bed is exceptional and handcrafted in the USA. It delivered free from CA to a small northern Michigan location seamlessly and without damage. The headboard came with a king frame which we did not use because our bed frame lined up perfectly with the headboard pre-drilled holes.

I'm not sure about the quality of the product because I have not received the bed I ordered a month ago. I will tell you that you should wait to order anything until there is a sale. I ordered my bed, then they sent out an email for 30 percent off. I contacted them and although I had ordered the bed several weeks earlier and it had still not been shipped, they would not take the 30 percent off. They just ignored that question. They told me that my bed had not yet shipped. No explanation or apology. Now, i just learned that they apparently have shipped my bed to Idaho. I do not live in Idaho. I

Now my friends are issued scrapers with their wine. This last session was after a scraping 3 months before, followed by 4 cans of Rust-oleum spray paint.
Soon it will be 100% Rust-oleum. The sooner the better. The paint store I took a chair to said it was not properly prepared for powder coating, never should have delaminated like this.

I found the Benicia Iron Works website recently and was amazed at all the varieties of bed frames there were. I had a question about getting the Heritage in dark brass finish. I gave them a call. I think the woman I spoke with was named Cherise, but she was very helpful, and answered all my questions. I was able to order with confidence. I LOVE my bed!!! It is beautiful.

Update - this unethical company still deserves 1-star. Thankfully, I used a credit card with pricing protection and my submitted price adjustment claim was honored. The credit card company stepped up to the plate right away when Benicia did not. Still no communication from this joke of a company and at this point, it doesn't matter.

We've been looking for a top quality well made iron headboard for our master bedroom. We stumbled on Benecia Foundry and Iron Works by accident. After perusing their online site we settled one we really liked. We placed our order December 13 and in four weeks it showed up. However, it was badly damaged by careless shipping personnel unrelated to the manufacturer. We immediately called Cerise and she set in motion a new one to be made. It arrived 31 January. This time it was in perfect condition.
It is now installed and makes our room look beautiful.

We had been looking for a bed for quite some time. It was important that the bed be made in the USA and we liked the fact that we could select the finish we wanted. All the beds we had seen wasn't quite what we were looking for. In any event, we were vacationing in Alberta, Canada and were staying at the Prince of Wales Hotel. Conflicting statements on workmanship and original construction defects remain unresolved. I can't in good faith recommend giving business to companies that fail to level set warranty coverage between sales staff and company ownership. The company appears to lack the integrity and accountability that their policies claim.

Purchased their Pasadena wrap-around iron bed in queen size for a guest bedroom. Found it on Ebay as the foundry was liquidating overstock for a private label they manufacture for. Bed arrived by FedEx freight. Delivery charge was $190; this is a heavy delivery. With the price I paid the total cost was still a bargain compared to online retail of their beds. The bed is top notch as for construction and finish. The dark antique finish is beautifully done. Great to see a piece so well made in the USA!

This company is amazing! I bought my Kentfield iron bed http://www.beniciaironworks.com/store2/product13x.html over 20 years ago, but had to put it in storage.
Now that we have a guest room, I brought the bed out to setup, but realized that I had lost the little clamps that go with the bed. I called the company and spoke to Sarah (who was awesome!) and they helped me out right away to get me the hardware I needed to put the bed together. Sarah was so helpful and very attentive.
This is a great company, and the beds last a super long time!

I ordered the Passero iron bed thru Humble Abode. The bed is beautiful however it arrived with a flaw on the top rail of the bed right between birds one and two. It appears to be a drip of welding rod metal which was painted over. I contacted Humble Abode and they contacted Benicia who said no two beds were alike since they are handcrafted. They would not resolve the problem so I guess I'll just live with it. Poor quality control on their part. Check your purchase over carefully.

We have been needing a new bed for quite awhile couldn't decide whether to stay with a queen or upgrade to a king. We have had our eye on the Pasadena bed at this place. After making a trip to Benicia Iron Works to check out all our bed options we came home with the Allison in a queen size. They didn't have a Pasadena available, the Allison is just as pretty. It was easy for my hubby to assemble and it looks great!! Lindsey greeted us with a great smile, very pleasant and helpful. These beds are made in Benicia..beautiful work!

Just purchased the Homewood iron bed in brown rust...it has 8 birds on the headboard and is a brand new design. Ken was so helpful and answered all our questions. It was like a mini-lesson in iron bedframes which we so appreciated. We came back the first day after looking around to make our purchase. Ken wrapped our frame carefully and completely. He had the frame (underneath part) in a box and all the nuts and bolts in a sealed bag. We came home and put it together...wow! What a great bed frame.

3. The cast iron canopy I wanted isn't available in queen size bed frame.
The one bed I do like will take approximately one month constructing so, the bed frame I purchase will surely be one of a kind: I do like the aspect not finding the bed frame I will purchase won't be found in somebody else's home!

I've shopped at the Benicia Foundry show room several times and always had a very good experience. It's like Disneyland for beautiful period-reproduction furniture and lighting. I purchased my bed there 15 years ago for well under half the retail price. Another fave is a charming, old-fashioned street light which has been the centerpiece of my front garden for about 7 years. Both remain in perfect shape, including the lamp, which is completely unprotected from the elements. Just bought an iron bed for my daughter. Very pretty and well put together. The showroom has every style of bed they make. The beds come in about 25 different finishes and at least as many styles. The on-site sales staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Ordering over the phone is very easy and whenever I spoke to someone on the phone, they answered all my questions. The quality of workmanship is excellent. I'm sure the bed will last forever. They do custom orders and will make your bed to order. I found out about a cabin in Tahoe by googling "rustic cottages," Then I found out about the Iron Works by staying at the Rustic Cottages in which they had great iron beds. THEN, I found out that the bed that I liked at Rustic Cottages was sold by a company in Benicia after visiting its showroom shortly after moving TO Benicia.. and that's where I found out that Benicia Iron Works owns Rustic Cottages. It's the Benicia Bermuda Iron Bed Works Triangle.

This business is amazing. We bought a bed from them over 10 years ago and it still looks brand new. When we need to buy more furniture, you can believe we are going to check out Benicia Foundry first! We love their artistic look -- you cannot find it anywhere else! One of a kind....
