Kohaku Japanese Restaurant
I think is one of the those hidden gems in town is not the fanciest place but it's definitely an amazing sushi place so if you are looking for good. I loved the atmosphere and the vibe of the restaurant. I think most of the employees were Japanese and the interior of the restaurant almost had like a.

OK. not bad. Went with the family for din-din. I was excited because of the good reviews, and the feeling I got when I walked into the place that it's. Always come here for takeout. Ramen is the most frequent dish as not too many local places have it in huntington - They are not fast moving here but it is.

Spider roll expensive. 12 dollars for 4 pieces. Thick rice and less fillings. Not good. Cheating customers with mediocre made sushi.

Been to many great Japanese restaurants, but must say that I’ve probably had the freshest sashimi of anywhere I’ve eaten. A true bare bones sushi house that I will be continue to visit!

Initially I was thrown off by the intricate menu size but upon ordering and receiving the food it was extremely tasty and filling. Perfectly cooked items, imported drinks, and friendly staff make this venue a must visit near Huntington station. The atmosphere is decorated in traditional Japanese style giving it a homely and welcoming establishment. I will return to taste other selections soon!

I felt like I was transported back to Japan when I walked in. The sushi chef is a Japanese grandpa so I was excited to try it out. The restaurant isn't the best for big groups (I came with a group of 10) but the staff was super friendly and helped us put tables together.
To be honest, I was a little shocked by the prices (avg cost of 1 roll was around $13). The rest of the food like ramen and udon were more reasonably priced (~$10) but I knew I had to try the sushi. It did not disappoint - the fish was fresh and some rolls came with 8 instead of your typical 6. I particularly enjoyed the

Always a gem. Kohaku's menu is extensive and their food is delicious every time. I'm personally a fan of their buckwheat noodles and bento boxes. as a regular here, I've always loved their quaint, family-owned atmosphere and authentic japanese cuisine. I highly recommend for anyone interested in supporting a small (but commendable) japanese restaurant with a talented chef. ✨10/10✨

This place is my regular sushi spot for the past 6 years. Honestly I'm so glad they've been open during covid. It's been super convenient to order and they never disappoint. My friends and I always drive down to Kohaku from Bellmore. It's definitely worth the drive!

I have been coming here for years, ken and his family are veterans of sushi! Serving top quality fresh fish at reasonable prices. Flavor is consistent and while it may not seem like your typical Long Island sushi eatery, remember it's old school Japanese. Respect

My favorite spot for sushi on the Island. They have many sushi options without raw fish. Their takoyaki is the AMAZING!!! It's crispy on the outside yet chewy on the in side, covered in spicy mayo and bonito flakes. The staff is super friendly and the owner always comes out to say hello. Great family owned business, highly recommend.

Great food. Passed this restaurant for 35 years before we finally decided to give it a try. It's not a fancy place. It's just a place where if you are just looking for good reliably good food, this is the place. Chef Ken is the owner and it's a nice small family business. We unfortunately discovered right before the sheltering in. We have ordered curbside pickup twice now and it's been heaven. Don't wait 35 years like we did. Give it a try. You won't regret it.

I loved the atmosphere and the vibe of the restaurant. I think most of the employees were Japanese and the interior of the restaurant almost had like a downtown Tokyo feel to it which I liked. The employees are super kind but it got super busy so it took time to ask for stuff we needed (fork, napkin, bill, etc). The food my friends was amazing and pretty reasonably priced. I would 100% go back again

I got takoyaki(fried octopus balls). Can't find them anywhere else on Long Island. They are so good! I will definitely be back soon for them. The sauce with them was awesome. Nice and spicy. I'm pregnant so can't have sushi but will be back to try the sushi as it looks great.

Ken san is consistent in delivering delicious food, lunch or dinner. Lunch menu is great in that there are so many to choose from (some times too many) and you can choose to go a la cart (sans soup and salad) or full lunch menu. Tea comes with food (you have to ask but there is no extra charge) and the staff is helpful in choosing your meal.

Small traditional Japanese spot right near Walt Whitman Mall. Have been going there for years now and it haven't disappointed yet. It's an older establishment but they have so much to chose from. They serve green tea with mostly anything you order. They have takoyaki which is soo delicious a must try when you go. Ken, the owner works behind the sushi bar. Him and his family and staff are very welcoming and always take care of me when I go in.

I started coming to Kohaku in 1990. My family had just moved to Huntington. We wanted Sushi, happened to be driving by Kohaku and decided to stop in.

What we found was at the time (this is before idea of special rolls was prominent) were really unique AMAZING rolls, delicate Soba Noodle soup with an amazing broth and fun light hearted atmosphere.

We ate there religiously for the next 20 years before we moved to California. My wife even has a roll named after her (The Alyssa Roll) becauase we suggested putting the Tuna Tartar into a roll format. (GET THE ALYSSA ROLL).

I was in NY a few

OK... not bad. Went with the family for din-din... I was excited because of the good reviews, and the feeling I got when I walked into the place that it's an old Japanese restaurant. I equate "old" with having been around for a long time, which generally tells me it's more likely authentic, and has the quality to stick around a long time.

They've got this cute thing going on with artwork, too... little derivations that adorn the menu and hand drawn signs behind the sushi counter.

I liked the carrot ginger dressing on the salad (though my wife thought it tasted too much

Only place i'll get sushi from !! is unique, not like all these trendy sushi restaurants that taste the same. Chef is amazing, fish is always fresh, and avocado always served ripe ! Can't recommend enough.

Have been coming to this little gem since moved to the Huntington/Melville area nearly 30 yrs ago, in '91. Whether seated at the bar so you can talk with & watch their terrific chef(s) in action up close (*see below link for helpful tips), or at one of the tables, the service is always excellent and personal feeling, like you're an honored guest. I've never had a bad or even mediocre dish - everything ranges from "very good" to "absolutely delicious!". It's in top 5 of my list for bringing out-of-town friends or family for a casual lunch or dinner and

Recently revisited Kohaku after a long respite...Last visit was not a good one and this one was not much better. I give them credit for still being there after all these years but the area is not great and the place looks old. Service was slow although friendly. I had Tepiaki Udon which, although tasty, was small and didnt have all the items usually associated with the dish. Also tried a Mindy Roll which was lackluster. The wall is loaded with colored signs touting the many different rolls they prepare but it was difficult to choose due to the vague descriptions....the menu was no better lacking

Oh my God, I think I'm going to die of sushi trauma. The best part about this dive is the Japanese toilet. Photo attached. The sushi was warm (ewww) and the rice was sticky and dry. This place needs to be condemned. It is in the worst neighborhood in Huntington Station which is an oxymoron. Do not ever think about coming here. I'm going into the sanitizing unit now. The owner is nice which is why he gets a 1 star. There were too many kids eating and coughing all over the sketch restaurant. I think I heard a car alarm go off. It might be ours. My napkin dropped on the floor and I am going
