The Niagara River Yacht Club was founded in 1957 at what was the Niagara Park Marina, located at 1010 River Road in North Tonawanda (Western New York). The NRYC leased this facility from the City of North Tonawanda. In 2006 the City of North Tonawanda cancelled the club's lease at that location.
The NRYC then moved their location about mile south on River Road and purchased the property formally known as Barry's/Schooners Bar at 346 River Road (at Robinson Rd, NT).Floating docks were installed after the purchase of this property, which is located on the Little River (off the Niagara River near the mouth of the Erie Canal).

Services
The Niagara River Yacht Club is a working club, meaning that it's a social club where members participate and share responsibility on the upkeep of the club. In addition, slips are available for members to rent first before opening up to provisional members, making it a great place to keep your boat.
There are many yacht clubs, locally and nationally, that hold reciprocal agreements with the Niagara River Yacht Club. Various services may be accessed by simply showing your Niagara River Yacht Club membership card. The most current listings can be found in either the Yachting Club of America Register of American Yacht Clubs book - we are a member - or binder of local reciprocal invites, both located at the clubhouse.
Application for membership is made via a written membership application. Generally, applications are obtained from a current club member but it may be downloaded (NRYC Membership Application). Instructions are included on the application. Before submitting an application, note that any potential new member must attend at least one club sponsored social event as a guest of a current member and obtain sponsorship from four current club members.
