Dr. Jay Sandberg opened Oakland Medical Center in Clawson, Michigan in 1991. In 1998, the practice moved to its current location at 115 East Long Lake Road in Troy, Michigan. The practice specializes in Internal Medicine with four primary care physicians and one physician assistant. As a Patient Centered Medical Home, we provide Internal Medicine services for patients from high-school student age to adults aged 60 plus.
I have been coming to Oakland Medical Center for years. I have multiple health issues and Dr. Sandberg is very dedicated to helping me feel better and making sure I receive the care I need. I have recommended Dr. Sandberg to many friends and family members who are now patients and have had the same great experience that I did.
Young people - starting in the high school years and continuing into middle age - often forego regular medical visits, thinking there is no need. Yet, early detection of conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes, or high cholesterol is very important. If left untreated, these conditions can lead to serious health concerns.

Dr. Sandberg is the model all doctors should learn from. He takes his time with his patients, LISTENS and will think outside of the box/research to offer the best possible care.
However, his staff is a different story. And while he has been notified on more than one occasion, no improvements have been made.
Bridget Swanson filled the wrong prescription for me. When I gave her the pills, because I couldn't use them, she didn't even apologize.
Sarah, the office manager is combative and hostile as her go-to reaction. I've never heard her start off by
listening or offering an apology or correction

Dr's attention is fine but front desk and billing is a mess. They bill wrong CPT's codes and for that reason i learned that i was paying charges that were cover under my insurance. They have my address wrong even when they have a copy of my driver license. For that reason i never received a bill in my mail and they send me to collection even when they have my cell phone number to be contacted. You try to talk to them and they just do not listen. Looking for a new doctor's office.

Doctors at the facility failed to inform me of several noteworthy elements of blood test results, including that I had mononucleosis! It was not until a followup, months later, that an intern commented on my earlier blood work that this was finally confirmed. Also, Drs are not personable, don't look you in the eyes, and visits often take 3 hours. There are much better options out there.

This is a decent and convenient place to receive health care for internal medicine and to see me primary care physician. I've don't recall any instance of having to wait more than five minutes after my appointment time before being brought into an exam room. The nurses are efficient and polite. The building itself and some of the equipment is a little bit older. But it works fine and everything is very clean. And who needs a luxury room just to have your blood pressure and temperature taken?
They also have an online website where you can see your health history and they will send out texts reminding

Bridget Swanson, P.A.-C. has made 5 mistakes with me alone in less than a month. Granted, she is very nice, but she works extremely fast, too fast in which several errors are being made. Apparently accuracy comes after speed on her list of priorities.
She told me to go on 3 medications, 2 of which were over the counter, one she prescribed me, and I asked her to make sure they were all NON-DROWSY (since I have to study for finals). What does she do? She prescribes me for a medication that is known for causing drowsiness which made me drowsy too.
Next, due to my physical state I asked, on Wednesday

I've been going here since 2000 or 2001 to see mainly Dr. Sandberg, but also see other doctors, or PA's when I need sick care and he's not available. This office is very thorough to run whatever tests are necessary and to not suggest those that are not.
I'm very happy with this office. Has there been a grouchy person there at some point in time, yes, but that's bound to happen at some point, anywhere you go. A grouchy office manager doesn't treat patients so good doctors and nurses are most important. The one grouchy person I've experienced there, I haven't seen in quite a while, but even she

It sucks!
Be aware that the front desk nurse may talk to you using another patient's records!!! And mistaken you are the other patient.
My wife called them to do an annual physical, the lady told my wife that she already had a physical last year on October 2014, and the insurance company will not cover the cost, if my wife insists on doing a physical exam, my wife had to sign a paper and pay the bill. And today my wife went there to get a signature for her last year's physical, and they told me that she did not have it last year. What a joke.
Clearly the front desk nurse was looking the wrong

Well, I certainly cannot relate to the reviews from the 2 below who have complained at all. I have been a patient at Oakland Medical Ctr for 20 years and have nothing but rave reviews about it to everyone/anyone I have spoken to about it and constantly make recommendation for them to switch their care over. My personal primary care doctor is brilliant, never rushes our apt (seriously, there is no time for idol chit-chat other, Stay on track with your medical issues, that is what you're there for. ). I wouldn't change doctors for the world. I have never had extended waiting times, perhaps because
