Snorkel Hot Tubs
Snorkel(R) Hot Tubs are 100% manufactured in the USA using premium-quality all heart, clear Western Red Cedar from the forests of Canada. With more and more companies sending manufacturing overseas these days, we're prouder than ever to be "American Owned & Made." We began our hot tub business in 1979, working out of a garage.

Though we've grown tremendously since, we've maintained our original "intimate workshop" atmosphere rather than adopt a "big manufacturing" attitude. We've purposely kept our operation on a "human scale" because it allows us to pay particular attention to quality in every piece of our hot tubs, and in every dealing with our customers.
Services
It has been observed that Westerners bathe to cleanse the body, and that Japanese bathe to cleanse the soul. We think that latter image comes to life in our beautiful Western Red Cedar Hot Tubs. There is something unique about hot tubbing in our natural wood hot tubs, particularly our wood-fired hot tubs, that can't be matched by plastic spas with 900 jets and a pop-up TV.
You can custom-select from our many tub sizes, heat sources, and accessories to design your perfect hot tub. Want help? Suggestions? Call us TOLL FREE 1-800-962-6208. We're more than happy to talk with you about the pros and cons of the various alternatives. The basic process, described below, is really simple.
Western Red Cedar (Thuja plicata) is unique among softwoods. It's heartwood contains high levels of Thujaplicans and water-soluble phenolics - natural fungicides creating resistance to rot. Additionally, Western Red Cedar is the best thermal insulator among the commonly available softwood species. For centuries, Western Red Cedar provided the indigenous people of the American Northwest raw materials for clothing, shelter, and utilitarian items.
Wood-fired hot tubbing is unique. People choose a wood-fired hot tub for a variety of reasons. Some like the low cost of operation, others like the appearance of the tub or the concept of wood heat. Whatever the reason most approach it as just another form hot tubbing. What they discover is that wood-fired hot tubs provide a whole new layer to the experience, one we like to call.
The original Snorkel(R) Stove was created by Roger Evans while he was a physics student at the University of Alaska in Fairbanks. The concept of wood-fired hot tubbing was so appealing to family and friends that Roger and skiing buddy Blair Howe formed a company to market the stove and wood hot tubs.

Initially they have incredible customer service. Tub itself is awesome. They told me it would take "a couple weeks" for the cedar tannins to come out of the wood, which would mess up the chemistry... No big deal. I would just have to empty the water and start over. That was a year ago and 6!filters later $40+ a pop). The tannins are still going strong. No big deal and they smell great... But they make the chemicals inert and makes it hard to balance the PH. (according to Tom).
They sent me "everything I would need" including an ionizer to keep the pH balance. I could never

First of all the quality of snorkel tubs is excellent. The craftsmanship and attention to detail is evident in this beautiful product.

I had a issue with my pump after 4 years and the support I got from Tom and Sam was amazing.

Thanks Snorkel!

Cedar tubs are fantastic. They look great, they smell great, and putting it all together is pretty satisfying.

All that said, I couldn't possibly recommend Snorkel Tubs. I bought a tub there and requested a spa pack for circulation only--no jets. What I was sold was a motor that could lift a 747. Probably the result of a QA/QC glitch, I received a package whose design was destined to fail, no matter how perfect the installation.

What was doubly irritating about my whole experience was that, after coming back to Snorkel when I experienced problems, they kicked me to the original equipment
