The optomap exam is fast, painless and comfortable. Nothing touches your eye at any time. It is suitable for the whole family. To have the exam, you simply look into the device one eye at a time (like looking through a keyhole) and you will see a comfortable flash of light to let you know the image of your retina has been taken.
Dr. Miller was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa. After graduating from the Witwatersrand School of Optometry he worked in private practice in Johannesburg. Dr. Les Miller relocated to Philadelphia to complete a residency and earn his Doctorate of Optometry Degree in 1984 from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.
The doctor will review your history of eye health as well as your family history, determine your visual acuities, check your intraocular pressure and examine the response of your pupils to light. The doctor will also dilate your eyes to examine the posterior structures of your eye and if necessary perform a variety of specialized tests.
