Services
As the local chapter of Mental Health America and of the Mental Health Association of New York State, it is our mission to drive evidence-based practices, information, education, and resources to the residents of Suffolk County.

We believe mental health is as important as physical health, and it is our goal to ensure that all of our local needs and voices are heard and recognized by government leaders, the business community, advocacy groups, and educational organizations in our region.
Suffolk County is home to more Veterans than any of the state's 62 counties. That means we have a special responsibility to help ensure that those who have served our country receive appropriate support when it comes to securing decent affordable housing, training and employment opportunities, mental health assistance, and other necessary services.
Our Mission Statement Empowering and inspiring people of all communities to identify, pursue, and sustain healthy, meaningful lives. We are Committed to a Diverse Workforce MHAW strives to develop an authentic, diverse workforce that embraces, creates, respects, and demonstrates diversity, equity, and inclusiveness in the work environment, towards one another and those we serve.
It is the responsibility of all employees to report suspected fraud, abuse or other improper activity relating to the operation of the Association for Mental Health and Wellness, whether committed by agency employees, vendors, clients, or others.

Fraud means any type of intentional deception carried out or misrepresentation made by a person with the knowledge that the deception or misrepresentation could result in the receipt of an unauthorized benefit by such person, or another individual or entity.

I personally feel like this organization failed me greatly in a time where I needed help the most. After enrolling FOUR months prior.. all I would get were phone calls and papers mailed to the house. I was told that it only takes a few weeks for a care manager to be assigned FOUR months later. I believe they need to assign care much sooner than they do as per my experience. Such a WASTE of time, mind over matter came a point where I was tired of waiting and realized I didn’t even need the services so I canceled.

This is the worst program on all of long island. Completely heartless and soulless. They don't care at all. Please boycott this program

Great association and even better people than you can ever imagine. 3 people in specific that did training are the sweetest most genuine people I've met. Sincere and very caring and they really know what they're doing. Highly recommend them for any support (Online and In-person) and training is beyond anything I've ever imagined. Easy location to get to (right next to the firehouse). Parking is good but can get tight if there are meetings with a bunch of people. All the people I came in contract with were Very relaxed and helpful.

For those suffering from mental illnesses, challenges in modern society can present discouraging hurdles. The establishment assists individuals to make any possible recovery, to live responsibly and productively with their families and within their communities.

A very nice place with a caring understanding staff a bit demanding they want you to come in 3 days a week other than that I would say they do a lot of good for all who walk through their doors definitely give it a try..

This is a great place. They contacted me the day after my intake interview. I've been attending since March 28th 2014. It's been very helpful.

This is an outstanding organization that performs a critically important public service! In my years of advocacy, this ranks as one of the premier organizations for mental health services. I highly recommend this organization.
