The original Black Tie Company was founded in 1998 by Dave Bandauski, a former president of the PSAI and an experienced owner of a Portable Toilet operation in the suburbs of Chicago. Dave became aware of the need for upscale restrooms at major outdoor events.
In early 1998 he convinced the PGA of America that his new company Black Tie Services could supply them with a new and consistent product for their hospitality villages at their tournaments.They awarded Black Tie with the contract for the 1998 Ryder Cup in Boston, which required 40 restroom trailers.
