In 1966 George Andrews Sr. with his wife Trudy rented a small single unit store front at 8407 S. Harlem Avenue in Bridgeview, Illinois and established the House of Camping. In the beginning, George along with his family would make weekly trips to the plants in Michigan and Indiana to pick up a single tent camper and return to the dealership in hopes of retailing his investment.

House of camping has an excellent service department. Mark and Brittany are very knowledgeable, honest, kind and helpful. I can’t speak highly enough about them! They’re just good people, which is rare in the RV world. In addition HoC has very competitive prices on service and storage rates. I will continue to bring my trailer in for service as long as Mark and Brittany are there!

We live in Des Moines Iowa and made the 6 hour drive to House of Camping to purchase our 2021 Rockwood Roo based on their reputation. Man did we make the right decision! From George the owner, to Matt (Georges son) who walked us through every aspect of the camper and educated us on proper operation etc, to Mark who installed our weight distribution hitch and made sure I was comfortable with the set up, to the office personnel, we couldn’t be happier with the service they gave us. Super folks to work with, made the finance and everything go very smooth, nice walkthrough, installed a WDS with sway and set it up. My dog was even allowed in as we drove all the way from Florida. Their prices are very fair to compared to Florida jacking up MSRP's. Only negatives were no hot water, a few cold showers but they worked through it on their own time after hours over the phone, valves had been in wrong direction. Other was bolts to tight on awning to adjust during a rain, that I could fix. A few issues with RV but that is on Forest river. Highly recommend.

Had the best experience buying a pop-up camper. It was my first time purchasing one and from the moment I walked in the door to the time I walked out, I encountered very friendly and professional people. George was an amazing salesman and Mark was a awesome service guy. Both took the time to show me and explain everything I needed to know about my purchase. They went out of their way to accommodate me and did not try to sell me things that I did not need. I would highly recommend this place for anyone interested in buying a camper.

I recently bought a 2608 BS from Arizona, 1600 miles away that I ordered in February.
Unlike a lot of people that preordered at other places and then the dealer raised the price, House of Camping stuck to what they quoted me and that’s what I paid when it was delivered. This was incredible after hearing some horror stories from other people.
I also bought a Hensley hitch which has many many parts to install it. I didn’t even have the correct parts for them to install and instead of trying to sell me another one they took the time to find the parts I needed at no cost. I cannot state how satisfied

This is a very well organized and run family business with great customer service. They are very responsive and treat you with care and attention. When we were contacting dealers to buy a camper we often had the same experience you get buying a used car. Dealers we making promises they couldn't deliver on, often didn't return calls, weren't interested in you beyond your wallet etc. With HoC we had a completely different experience. They operate like the traditional family business that you rarely find these days. Top marks to them. They made buying a camper a great experience.

We had a couple very minor things come up with our camper after the warranty period and the House of Camping team jumped into action well outside of normal business hours on an Holiday weekend to provide support. It was simply nice to know how much they cared about us.

What a amazing experience from start to finish. George was fantastic and helped us with every step of the way. We met Mark from service and he was also outstanding! We had a wonderful experience with George and family when purchasing our new camper. Their price was lower than ANYONE within 3 states, and they even gave us a discount for driving so far (from Indianapolis) on a Saturday. After offering me a very generous trade-in offer, with only pictures to go on, they even encouraged me to sell it myself (which I did) if I could. It took us 1 week from initial contact to pick-up, 6 days after our unit was built. George stayed after hours on Saturday to walk us through everything with our new camper, installed 2 batteries for us, and checked everything thoroughly

Went to the store to fill a propane bottle. While there we looked around and started asking questions about some of the A-frame campers. The employees didn't seem very responsive and didn't really look like they were concerned about potential business, so we left. Probably will not be back. There are too many other camper dealers in the area and I don't want to deal with mediocre customer service on the first visit. They only want to make a quick sale. The customer service experience is horrendous. Once you purchase your shiny new rig, you can forget any kind of support. You can expect no warranty to be honored and out of pocket expenses for items that should have been covered. Sure, the service area is capable, but the owners will not allow them to help customers without costs. Owners will only return calls when a sale is on the line. Once there is a problem, forget about it. I expect a better attitude as a customer. I would recommend shopping elsewhere.
