Great gym, has all the equipment you'll need and good knowledgeable staff. Everyone I've met there knows what they're doing and is really nice. Less expensive than somewhere like the Alaska Club but still manages to be a nicer gym. Worth it! Ask Jeremiah for free protein shakes.

My experience with Alaska Functional Fitness started off alright. However, after learning they charged my card $30 for a day pass I was pretty upset with the entire situation. Instead of them offering me the 3 free day pass they took this as an opportunity to take my money. When I called them to clarify why I had been charged so much for one hour worth of time in their gym. I learned, that because they are a privately owned gym its justifiable to charge someone who doesn't live in the area and was only using it one time, $30 for an hour session is okay.
The gym equipment was nice and it was a

My wife and I own a bodybuilding/powerlifting gym in Cali. Came to town to visit and found this gym on Google. ABSOLUTELY immaculate gym. Cleanest facility and most well equipped gym we have ever visited. Kristina and Wil (staff) were so nice and informative. Multiple times while we were working, we stopped and repeated to ourselves how great the gym was. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Places like this are few and far between with the quality environment they provide. I really can't seem to come up with any sort of downside of AFF.
It easily is the most up to date fitness facility in town that has anything and everything you could ask for.
The staff is always friendly and eager to help with anything.
The other members of the gym are just as friendly and open
And to top it off the gym is lead by management that cares about its gym members

This is a lifters gym. No frills. Great staff. Super friendly all around vibe. Does a CrossFit area for those looking for the functional movements.

A lot of time, thought and money went into this gym. Plenty of weights (200lb dumbells), Machines and cardio equipment. They seem to cater toward the serious body builder or power lifter of all calibers. Don't go in looking for the hot yoga room or the next aerobics class, but expect to be using the top of the line equipment to enhance your physique.
For the people that gave the Gym less than 5 stars due to how they were treated. I feel you have to give respect to get respect. Don't go in disrespecting someone's dreams and hard work because you feel entitled after paying your fees/dues.

Won’t be recommending this Gym anyone in the bodybuilding community. If you sweat, drop weights, make any noise the staff will not be pleasant to deal with. After an hour a day of cardio on the stair climber I was called into the office my last two days with the option to get new workout clothing and “smell better” , or be kicked out. They did give us an option to leave the gym willingly before being kicked out and we do appreciate the option. The equipment is nice, but not worth dealing with the un pleasantness of the staff/rude members.

Worked out in a lot of gyms in my 45 yrs of training & this is hands down the best gym I have ever trained at. It’s a serious fitness atmosphere without the intimidation thing going on. Excellent clean top of the line equipment. Management & members are all friendly & helpful. And no foo foo Zumba type stuff that you have to listen too while you train 😎💪

I've worked-out in a lot of gyms in my days. This is by far, the best facility I've ever worked-out in! What is so great about this gym:
1) The equipment is pristine and carefully curated.
2) The atmosphere is light, bright, clean and thoughtfully laid-out.
3) This gym knows who it is: It's machines, free weights, functional and cardio... That's it!
4) Shoes policy - Bring a pair of shoes! No outside shoes allowed inside on the floor. This keeps the floors incredibly clean and new. Nothing is worse in a gym than exercising on dirty floors.
5) Protein Shake Bar - You don't see those much anymore

This is not your Alaska Club or your typical "club" gym. This does not have a sauna, a hot tub, or fancy water massage chairs. This is a real gym, that is well kept, and fosters a sense of community.
Before you enter the gym you must take off your outside shoes-as they are not allowed on the gym floor. There are lockers to store shoes. Locker rooms are pristine and well lit.
The equipment is top of the line, and taken care of. When something is broken the gym manager makes sure it get fixed within the next few days. The gym members recognize how great the facility is and respect the

I just checked this facility out for the three free days and after going to The Alaska Club, Functional Fitness isn't as fucntional for my schedule. They have state-of-the-art equipment and of all the times I visited, it was empty which is cool but not 99% of the time. Every now and then it's good to mentally push myself with more people and along with unfriendly staff, I decided to never return. I haven't looked back.

Clean facility with everything you could pretty much want. You can get a good BB'ing workout in or hop on over to the other side of the facility to do some HIIT/circuit training. Never too busy, never have to wait for equipment. Definitely worth the monthly membership price. Best gym in Anchorage.

I've been a member at AFF for about a year now and I can honestly say it is the most well-kept facility in Anchorage. The staff and patrons all help to keep it clean and in good order. All the equipment is new and works without any jams, squeaks or sticks.

The locker rooms are nice and spacious. Their showers are clean.

Great gym for all your fitness needs.

I love the variety and quality of equipment they have. LifeFitness cardio machines, synergy 360, hoist weight equipment, kbs, battle ropes, dumbbells, a million bar attachments, and more will keep you from having s boring workout. The place is newer, still nice and clean, and not too busy.

Nice and clean shower facilities, nice and bright and light in the dressing room. Lockers available but bring a lock. Bring your own soap; but hair dryers on site.

Personal training is reasonable, $40/hr or they have a 12-session deal right now for $26/session.

Downside is the drop in rates are crazy
