A: Teachers meet all NYOCFS State requirements. Some staff members have worked to acquire a CDA and have extensive practical work experience. Our Infant programs include caring staff that will follow the routines and schedules of your child. Each infant is on their own schedule and the teachers follow that schedule while in our care. Music, books and floor play take place daily in our infant programs. Your baby will enjoy a safe, stimulating environment full of nurturing second only to that of your home!
Our Toddler program consists of a structured routine that provides children lots of opportunities for sensory type activities and hands on manipulatives. Communication and increasing vocabulary are part of all daily interaction. Circle time, art and gross motor activities are some of the things your child will experience while at The Olde Schoolhouse.
Our Preschool program follows lesson plans for weekly themes which include a focus on letters, numbers, shapes and colors. Your child will be participating in activities which include writing, art, sensory, math and dramatic play.
Accompanying many of your themes we will have visits from local business and municipalities (ie; a fireman and fire truck, a dentist, a policeman, etc) During circle time, we will be reading books, singing songs, learning about the calendar and the days of their week, weather, and the classroom jobs that each child will have the opportunity to be a classroom helper.

Our School-Age program offers daily homework time, organized arts and crafts, cooking, team play and outdoor play. It is a fun environment for your school age child to spend their time when not in school. The BH-BL school district has busing that drops off and picks up right at our doorstep. Our School-Age summer program, Camp TOSH, has weekly themes with games, projects and clubs.

In today’s fast-paced, big business world the Olde Schoolhouse Daycare Center provides a sense of relief for my family. I have had my children in the center since they were infants and have always enjoyed a strong relationship with the center's director, Ron Woodbeck, not to mention the rest of his staff. My main concern about having my kids in daycare is whether or not they would get the attention they need, while still being able to enjoy the environment. The Olde Schoolhouse pulls this off flawlessly. Ron has always been a fair and friendly administrator, but most importantly he listens well
