Hi I’m an employee here. We are now under new ownership as ALE’s Family Restaurant. This means that we no longer take online orders through Shaffer’s website, Chow Now under Shaffer’s, or DoorDash through Shaffer’s. We are also short staffed like everyone else so when entering and ordering at our establishment please be respectful and mindful of this. Thank you, the ALE’s family.

I am from long island NY and just recently moved to upstate. We have tried to find a decent slice of pizza with no luck. We stumbled upon Shafer's just the other day . It's a quaint little place which has everything. The girl that waited on us was the best. She was so nice and professional way beyond her years. She offered to make a fresh pie for us and we weren't disappointed. It was the best pizza we had since long island. The best part of our visit was the waitress. With her attitude she made our day just a little bit brighter. Thanks. We will definitely come back again.

As you read these reviews, remember folks that this is the Post-Covid world. Everybody wants to eat out but nobody wants to work. As a result, wait times and quality of service will suffer. Expectations will start to change.
My experience at Shafer's Market was a tasty one. One of the better burgers I've had in a while and the best homemade french fries I've had all year. Be patient and the universe will reward you.

I ordered ahead of time and still waited 40 minutes before leaving without my food. Not one person asked if I wanted to order or if I had already ordered despite standing at the counter. And to top it all off the amount of flies that were landing on me and the utensils they were serving with was unbelievable. Will never be back or recommend this place to anyone

Shafers should rename themselves RUDE and NASTY. My husband and I was so looking forward to a delicious pizza. Unfortunately we got quite the opposite. We ordered a cheese pizza and got a pizza with pepperoni sausage and mushroom. My husband asked one of the staff and she was extremely rude telling us that it is what we ordered. We were starving so instead of returning it we gave it a try. It was greasy, doughy, and undercooked. We received dirty looks from the young inexperienced staff as we attempted to eat the pizza. Also the place was very dirty with hundreds of flies soaring over our food

Extremely slow service brought the wrong order so we tried to make it work started eating fries them took order back and gave it to a couple to go. Our order was horrible soggy fries from dirty cooking grease . Staff is more interested in the counter tip then the service. Can't blame this on covid .

Honestly if I could give this place 0 stars I would!
Despite knowing better buy now I tried ordering a pizza from here!
I MEAN SERIOUSLY
$5.00 FOR ONE SLICE OF PIZZA
OR
$5:00 FOR ONE TINY SLICE OF CAKE
PRICES ARE OUTRAGEOUS!
Thought what could go wrong?
who can’t make a good pizza?
It was buy far the worst pizza I have ever had !
Also the staff were not very friendly definitely did not make me feel welcomed!
This matches up with all the other times I have given This place a try where the service stinks the staff are unfriendly and very rude to the point where as a customer your afraid

On the best of days, this place can be a 4. On other days, it is a 2. Pros, it's open later than most places around here. The pizza is ok at worse. Some days, it's really good. It partially depends on who is cooking. I've had a few other things there and they pretty good. The brisket is a fatty brisket, not that I mind, but know it's not a lean cut. Got my first Vermont creemee here as well.
