Got the handheld gyro with lamb and beef filling. The meat was not cooked enough if you like it slightly crispy. The other usual toppings for a gyro were ok. The fries were nothing to get excited about. I recommend that you skip this place if you're looking for a good gyro.

I have been going to Greek Kitchens all over the city almost weekly for lunch since they opened several years ago. I don't understand some of the hate in the reviews. You can get a number of things here--and most people rave about the Greek fries--but I lean toward the big, messy, flavorful pita handhelds. Is this the most high-end, carefully prepared, elegantly presented fast casual spot? Probably not. But I do invariably have a filling, flavorful wrap that hits the spot every time, for about $7-8. And you can do a lot worse in a hospital food court.

My recs (should you care):

Conveniently located in NWH, it's a quick go to for some causal Greek food. A gyro is really traditional Greek street food, so don't think of it as a fancy entrée!
As others have said, it does get backed up, partially just the set up and also people not knowing what they want for toppings and thinking about it like it's a big decision.
Gyro is good, Greek fries are good. Runs like a fast casual restaurant

I ordered from Greek Kitchen today. The Village Salad and Baklava. It arrived on time and well packaged. It was also very tasty.
It is not the first, or last time I have ordered from them.

Good stuff. You can either choose a pita, a bowl, or a salad with your choice of protein, as well as toppings. Similar to Chipotle or Roti, you can pick what you would like. I like either the pita or the bowl with the lamb (traditional gyro filling), the tomato and cucumber, onion, spicy red sauce, and tzatziki sauce. I've never tried the salads or the side dishes, but I bet they're good. It's even better that it's pretty much across the street from my work. I usually order to-go, but there is indoor seating if you prefer to dine-in (as of 10/20, although capacity is reduced due to COVID)

The lemon rice soup was good unique in that I never tasted avgolemeno soup like that before.
Tasted like Greek pasta dish pastitso with nutmeg allspice and cinnamon?
Plus some hot spice maybe red pepper.
Just not good.

Horrible and painful experience. This is the forth time I have walked out from there thinking "Never Again". Today all the other places in NMH had huge lines and this one was empty. So I thought: "it would be faster". I have no people in front of me and a few waiting. I have asked how long it would take to make an omelet, they said 10 min. After waiting for 15-20, i have asked them again, they said they are busy and it would be a min. After 30 min they have told me my order is next, but potatoes and omelet will take a while to cook. I have already waited 30 min and I couldn

The menu looks good but skip this one. The lemon soup tasted like metal. Beyond edible. The Greek fries were decent, but would not get again. So sorry I tried this place out with all the other options to choose from $10.00 wasted.

Delicious fast casual Greek food in a clean environment. Pick your protein(gyro, chicken, etc.), your preparation(pita, plate, salad) and choose from a large variety of toppings, many free, a few with up charges. Enjoyable food at reasonable prices.

Maybe it was an off day but the Falafel in my sandwich was rock hard, fried all the way through. I wouldn't expect this in the lunch rush but didn't have time to complain and it was crowded. The vegetables another ingredients were fresh however and the service was fast. Maybe a salad next time...

I learned that the man yelling at me was the co-owner. When I spoke to management shortly after the altercation (via phone) he was very unmoved, offered to comp a meal but other than that he was not very responsive to the situation... I later learned that was the other co-owner... THEY ARE BROTHERS. I haven't been back to the establishment since and never will. The owner at a time had a political career here in Chicago... I'm sure he was ousted with that behavior and attitude.

DON'T EAT HERE!!!

I found a USED bandaid in my food and all the restaurant did was offer a refund and hung up on me.

Update: The owner called and was incredibly rude to me. Offered to buy me lunch and when I said I would not be returning nor would anyone in my party I ordered for, he said thanks. He was more worried about refunding our $60 order than my health and safety from eating in his restaurant.

Nah!! Nope! no! Uh uh !! . I went here today and ordered a chicken kabob plate with rice. However they gave me a pile of gyro meat with rice . Informed the person making my food . He then scraped the gyro meat (grease still on the plate) off and attempted to put my kabobs in the gyro meat residue! I asked for a new plate so they scraped the rice from the plate back into the fresh rice and at that point I just walked out . If you eat there today June 12,2019 , your rice has chicken kabob juice and gyro meat residue in it. I'm good luv, enjoy.

This location is inside Northwestern. I got the chicken shish kabob and it was really good! Tender, juicy flavorful chicken. Two huge skewers of meat. Huge helping of rice which was fluffy and tasty. You can choose some "toppings" I got pickles and a tomato cucumber salad, both were good. You can also choose a sauce to top and I got garlic and it lacked a punch! Very yummy and nice compliment to the chicken.

Meh. Mediterranean food that runs like a chipotle shop. however unlike chipotle, the there is a bottleneck in their process when it comes to the toppings person. he gets go backed up and stressed out compared to the others its so unfair. The staff can barely hear you as you ask for items or can't multitask.

The pita was cold-ish tho toasted...it wasn't every chewy and fresh. the gyro meat was not hot at all. This shop could use some improvement overall if they want to meet the likes of other Mediterranean chains.

It was our first time at this hospital that is just across from Lurie Hospital, I cannot complain even if I ordered Greek fries and we got regular fries. Next time I'll say I want papitas Griegas por favor. Since I heard all the workers speaking my Language. Everything was soooo goood! Photo taken by my best photographer.

I like their plates it's $8.75 or a plate you get a choice of meat for me I had falafel, rice or pasta, and a side salad and pita bread. I think it's a good deal for a fresh healthy Mediterranean food. They have a fast, clean and friendly service. It's kinda like chipotle style fast self-service.

The food is great--very filling. I love the artwork as well! The ordering process is simple as well. Just go to the front (start on the left--pay at the end, on the right) choose a plate, handheld, or salad (those are the menu choices), they'll ask you what you want on it, and just go down the line, then pay at the end. If you order online, I think you go to the right (the cash register) to pick up your order. After you have your food, choose a seat and enjoy, or take it with you to go.

Food: just normal Mediterranean food, served chipotle style. They have limited choice of sauce and topping. And their pita bread is not as chewy.

Service: maybe because its in the hospital and gets busy during lunch hour, the staff are not as friendly and they only filled half of the plate...

I def like Naf Naf Grill better. I mean they serve similar food choices, but naf naf has yummier chicken and pita bread and def cheaper baklava.

Good place for a fast lunch. Here you can get sandwiches, salads, appetizers, and desserts. Iove falafel and hummus so getting the platter was the best of both worlds. The dining area gets packed so you may want to call ahead.

Love this place. Lamb and beef plate is great, I get that with hummus veggies and rice. So good.
If you're going for lunch, you better get there before 12:10 because the line is usually out the door but even then, the food is worth the wait.

My go-to place for fast Greek food! I love their hand wraps and the fact that they let you put fries in them. Fries make every sandwich and wrap taste 100x better! I had the lamb and it was pretty damn good. The chicken with Greek yogurt dip is a good pick too. Need to try falafel next time!

Northwestern has it down when it comes to providing delicious hospital food! It's really great that they consciously (or maybe it was unconsciously) put a healthy fast food restaurant that has a ton of variety. During lunch hours, the wait can be pretty atrocious which is why if you're visiting the hospital, it would be in your best interest to eat an odd hour (think 2PM). When I came by for dinner tonight, the food was as fresh as ever. I had myself greek salad with a chicken kebab added on. The feta was flavorful and my salad had a ton of color in it. The chicken kebab was moist and
