Like many Mexican families, our family loves to cook, and what we try to do in all our La Bamba restaurants is bring you a genuine Mexican eating experience-with large portions, lots of flavor, and all the food prepared in front of you to your specifications. All of our La Bamba restaurants are fun, neighborhood places where you can eat great Mexican food with your family and friends.
We offer fresh, flavorful, authentic, high-quality food in a warm and casual atmosphere. And, we're open late, if you get hungry after your late night adventures! We invite you to come and visit La Bamba for yourself and see why our loyal customers keep coming back for more. Brothers Ramiro and Antonio Aguas became frustrated with the lack of quality Mexican food in the Chicago and Champaign areas, so in 1987, they opened their first store.

Everything is made to order, but made rather fast ane efficiently. Friendly service. Big portions for your money. I am here frequently on third party deliveries, and never wait long for them to make up the orders here, but usually a small line, stays busy. Support this friendly Mexican food, burritos as big as your head!

I wouldn't say it's the best Mexican food, but what it is , is a flavor of Mexican and you get a lot of it ! My only downgrade is the atmosphere, the place seems very 1988 plastic furniture or Formica like , elementary classroom lighting , so if you get it by grub hub and never go in there it's easily 4/5 star

Burritos as big as your head still holds true. I couldn't bring myself to order one, as my favorite is still the torta. You can't beat this staple of the street food offerings. Don't forget the hot sauce packets, as this adds flavor and spice to every dish. Rice and beans were quite tasty, and the mini burrito is still enough for a grown man to be satisfied. Will return for sure as this is just a mainstay of my younger days. Enjoy! And for you amigo? Don't forget to pick up a shirt or hat to remember your delicious meal.

The food was mediocre. I didn't finish my chicken quesadilla. The chicken quesadilla was mostly lettuce and very little cheese. My husband finished his burrito. The meat in his burrito was seasoned well. Probably would not order from here again. Side note--their hot sauce is probably one of the best that I have ever had and saved the food.

I'm disappointed in this place. My husband hyped it up as his go to burrito place when he lived here. My burrito was mostly lettuce, and the steak literally tasted like roast beef with brown gravy. It reminded me of Taco Bell, but sadly worse. The horchata is definitely from a mix. It tasted like watered down instant vanilla pudding. We still ate everything bc we were starving lol but we won't be back.

This is the worst burrito I have ever had. They delivered it to me so wet last night that the paper box broke. The taste was nasty, had 2 bites and couldn't take it anymore.
I'm not to picky with food as I travel all over the country. And definitely don't like to waste my time writing reviews... just so you have an idea of how bad it is.

This place will always have a soft spot in my heart. Moved here in 2000 at 16 and whenever I'm in the area I HAVE to stop here. Really wish the other locations hadn't shut down. This one is the last of a dying breed of great, quick, and delicious Mexican fare. Wish I had pictures to post but the food doesn't always last that long. I normally get the super burrito with chicken but sometimes I spice it up with chorizo. Messy but delicious!

Just no. Maybe I ordered the wrong item off the menu but I don't think changing my order would have changed my mind.
Stopped in for lunch, to-go order. There was one person eating other than that the restaurant sat empty. Both trash cans had plates of food piling up. Overall look of the place wasn't very clean. Maybe I should have walked out then? But I didn't.
After looking over the menu I ordered the meat quesadilla, with steak and a side of rice. I asked for no tomatoes, which they followed through with. Typically I always end up with tomatoes. I paid and within 2-3 minutes

This is authentic Mexican fast food. It's not Taco Bell, it's not Chipotle, it's not Laredo's or El Pastor or La Hacienda. If you want sit down Mexican food go elsewhere, if you want fully Americanized Mexican food (i.e. lots of cheese) go elsewhere. If you want a lot of grease surrounded by actual Mexicans also eating a lot of grease come here.
$0.99 ground beef tacos (again, no cheese unless you add it) and the Carne Asada are the best ways to spend your money here. The burritos are huge and greasy.
They are open late, everything is prepared fresh, and the prices are

What can i say, I was sober at 0245 and they closed at 0300, I Was greeted by two gentlemen wearing smiles and a can do attitude. I ordered food and it was great, great, great, great! I only tried the carne asada street tacos here with cilantro, onions, and white cheese and they were great, did i say how great they were yet?
The bathrooms were clean, the floor appeared to be swept and upkept that late at night, there were people still sitting down, eating, watching the telly, and just generally enjoying themselves.

Average tacos.
Coming from Milwaukee I can't say prices are good for the quality.
Any alterations cost an arm and a leg. I saw a couple come in and order ten tacos, they added sour cream and avocado to all of them which doubles the cost. They weren't aware and it ended up making a scene.
The manager pointed to the menu board, where the additional cost is not too obvious.
Made a big scene and all of the diners were uncomfortable.
