Joint preservation techniques are used in patients with cartilage defects to preserve the joints and to restore the function. Articular cartilage is the cartilage that covers the bony surface of joints. It has a smooth surface which allows the bones of the knee joint to slide over each other with very little friction.
Articular cartilage is often damaged by injury or normal wear and tear. The number of children participating in sports activities has been increasing over the recent years resulting in a substantial rise in the incidences of sports injuries.

5 stars, 5 stars, 5 stars!!!!! Truly amazing practice and staff I would give them 20 stars if I could. My entire visit ran extremely smooth all the way through. From the moment I scheduled the appointment online until the very end of my visit. First, I did not have any imagining done on my knee yet, I was able to get an XR, then see the dr, then get an MRI, then came back into the office, and Dr Jazrawi looked at all the imaging right away and was able to drain some blood from my knee to help me feel instantly better. Dr Jazrawi is truly an EXPERT in his field. He has great bedside manner, is very

Dr. Jazrawi has provided surgical treatment for pretty significant shoulder and knee injuries I've sustained. As a fellow doctor and former surgical resident, I can tell he is technically excellent. The incision was closed with a plastic-surgery-type of closure, rather than staples, which I appreciate. I only wish I could scrub in and see him working first-hand. He responded to me after my last injury, calling me right away while I was overseas, reviewing the findings, and making appropriate recommendations. As you can imagine, it was incredibly helpful to get trusted medical advice at a time like

On 31 Dec 2016 I had a torn ACL in my right knee. After a long research I felt that I trusted this doctor the most (just based on reviews and his pictures :) In Feb 2017 (2 months after injury - you have to give it time to de-inflame) Dr. Jazrawi replaced my torn ACL with a donor one. (I was 35) The surgery went excellent and after 6 months I started running again and 2.5 years later I ran my 7th NYC marathon. My knee is doing great and I am happy I found this doctor! Would recommend to everyone with knee injury.

Uninterested. Pressured me to make a decision. My fault.. Live and learn but writing this review so you don't have to go through this experience. Find someone willing to spend more than 5 minutes with you. If they get annoyed at your questions remember they do this for a living and you are dealing with it for the first time... if they cannot respect that, they cannot respect you. And then how do you make an informed decision? This isn't a review about food. This is serious. And that's why I am attempting to have my voice heard somewhere. I cannot figure out who to report my experience

Laith spent 10 seconds looking at my arm and decided I needed surgery for an ulnar nerve transposition. He determined that I'm on the skinnier side and made a comment about the lack of fat near my elbow (which is usually used to secure the nerve).
When I woke up from my surgery, I was told there is no problem. Several weeks later, severe pain and paralysis starting occurring and I returned to the doctor multiple times since then.
Laith came in, spent 10 seconds looking at my arm, and informed me that the surgery has failed because he used fat to secure my nerve instead of muscle. I was shocked

I am surprised by the positive reviews. From reading this I guess he is a good surgeon. I suppose since I was not a surgery candidate and my condition was not that interesting that is why he did not take any time or care or concern... shot me up with steroids and sent me on my way. The problem never went away. On my return visit I got even less of concern and he said, "What do you want? I can give you another steroid shot. Is that what you want?" It as all very disconcerting. 6 months later I am still dealing with the issue and will have to seek help elsewhere. I don't know where to go but I strongly

Dr. Jazrawi performed a biceps tenodesis and a distal clavicle resection on my shoulder as a result of a dance injury. I was so happy that I chose Dr. Jazrawi to do my surgery; he is a no-nonsense kind of guy who clearly has a demanding schedule but he took the time to answer all my questions and address my concerns about these procedures. I was able to return to performing 4 months after my surgery; two years later I am still dancing pain-free and I owe that to the excellent work of Dr. Jazrawi and of course my physical therapists.

Dr. Jazrawi is the best of the best. I had pain in my knee for about 5 years and learned that it was due to a previous surgery (meniscectomy) where a surgeon from Trinitas in NJ had left me about 10% of a meniscus at the age of 19. I researched for some time and learned that the only way to treat this was through a collagen meniscal implant (CMI). I found Dr. Jazrawi to be one of the 3 highly acclaimed surgeons in NYC that performed CMI. I visited him at his office in NYU and he and his team play no games. Honest, straight forward, gentle, and understanding. Dr. Jazrawi is also a first class professional

Whenever I visit the NYULangone Orthopedic Building on East 38th Street NYC it is always a great experience no matter how much pain I am in. Everyone is helpful and pleasant and I do mean everyone. Dr. Laith M. Jazrawi makes the experience less scary with his expertise, great personality and professionalism. I have recommended Dr. Jazrawi to everyone I know who needs a specialist in orthopedics and it is my feeling that he is totally responsible for keeping me out of pain. As far as I am concerned he should get 10 stars.

This doctor is the best of the best. If you have knee problems don't even think of going to anyone else. He will help you find the best way to treat your problem without surgery. This is my one and only orthopedic doctor I will ever let deal with my knee again. He is honest, patient, compassionate and knowledge.
