Diseases such as Diabetes and High Blood Pressure are often first discovered during a Dilated Eye Exam. Dr. Irena Bekhtel has been practicing Optometry for more than 20 years. She graduated from the University of Miami in 1993 with a degree in Chemical Engineering then went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in Fort Lauderdale.
She completed her specialty training in contact lens fittings at the Broward Eye Center in 1998. In the last two decades, Dr. Bekhtel has practiced in Florida, Massachusetts, and California, providing comprehensive eye exams and specialty contact lens fitting to thousands of patients. In addition, Dr. Bekhtel has also co-managed cataract and refractive surgeries with ophthalmologists.

Services
We provide comprehensive eye examinations, diagnosis and treatment of eye disease and visual system disorders. In addition, we conduct screenings for glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic and hypertensive retinopathy. We also provide specialty contact lens services for patients with astigmatism, keratoconus and cosmetic contact lenses.
In the first portion of your exam, we will determine the refractive status of the eye in order to prescribe visual correction, like glasses or contacts. Your eye exam incorporates binocular vision evaluation to help eliminate strain and headaches due to visual disorders. In addition, your examination includes a dilated fundus examination for evaluation of all visible structures of the eye.

I absolutely love Dr. Bekhtel!! I have been seeing her for almost 7 years. I started going to her when she was located at Jcpenney. I was sad when I heard that she left. Luckily I was able to find her again. You will not be disappointed if you book your appointment with her. She is very patient, kind and knows what she is doing!! I would also like to say that the office manager Sandy is such a joy. I was greeted with a smile as soon as I walked in. Come here you will not regret it!!
