Services
During your first appointment, Dr. Laborde and his staff will spend time talking to you about your specific oral health concerns. He will also review your medical history in detail so make sure to fill out the forms to the best of your ability. Depending on the reason for your visit, he may need to take additional x-rays or photographs to make an accurate diagnosis.
A Periodontist is a dental specialist who has successfully completed a 3-year residency program, after 4 years of dental school, focused on treating periodontal disease and the placement of dental implants. In addition to formal surgical training, Dr. Laborde received a Masters Degree for the research that he performed as a resident.
There is a growing body of evidence that supports a relationship between your oral health and general health. Periodontal disease is considered a chronic inflammatory disease. Chronic inflammatory diseases cause an increase in the levels of inflammation in the bloodstream and body. As the levels of inflammation increase in your body, it can increase your risk factor for developing additional diseases and conditions.
If your periodontal disease is more advanced or hasn't responded to a deep cleaning (scaling and root planing), a surgical treatment may be recommended. Due to the advances in treatment, periodontal surgery has become less invasive and more effective at treating advanced disease. There are a variety of procedures that may be recommended based on individual patient needs.
Dental implants are a great choice for replacing one or several missing teeth. Implants are a safe and predictable treatment option with a success rate in our office of over 95%. A dental implant is a titanium post or screw that is placed into the jawbone. Titanium and the jawbone are very compatible and actually fuse together in a process called osseo-integration.

I had such a positive experience getting gum grafts done with Dr. Laborde! He always answered all of my questions and made sure that I was completely comfortable during my exams and procedures. He was also great about following up after the procedure to make sure I was doing well. A very kind periodontist who really cares about his patients!

I waited almost 2 months for this appointment. My initial experience was positive, when one does not have regular dental checkups done it is a daunting task just to be seen. The staff was comforting and professional, however the pricing was hiked up tremendously playing on my extensive fear of pain, the cost of pain management is approximately the same as a car payment. There are likely much less expensive options that were not presented. Another brick wall has been constructed while trying fix my dental issue that have plagued me for years.

Dr. Laborde and his staff are incredible. I can't say enough positive things about their professionalism and customer service. Dr. Laborde explained everything thoroughly and kindly. Trudy is an exceptional nurse and helped calm my nerves. Misty handled my questions deftly and with thoughtfulness. The staff didn't just take wonderful care of me but also wonderful care of my driver (my father), who waited for several hours.

Dr. Laborde and his team are the sweetest and they truly care about the patient! I had two separate gum grafting surgeries and for both they made me feel extremely comfortable and prepared for the before and after of the surgery. Any discomfort or concerns Dr. Laborde was only a phone call away. His demeanor is extremely calm and he walked me through the whole process in a way that made sense. His team will go above and beyond as well! After surgery I had some staining from the prescription mouthwash and Ashley was sweet enough to go ahead and polish my teeth to remove the staining I couldn't do
