My teenage son visited Dr Kapelman for acne. Not only did we not see real results- she pushes harsh medications without following thru with other options. She was condescending to staff in front of us on more than one occasion. Verbally yelling at one point as we were walking out. Highly unprofessional. She was not respectful in her questions nor did she follow typical boundaries with teens. You got the impression you are just a number, showed no real concern and my son always walked out feeling worse than when he came in. Do not recommend!!!

I never write reviews but felt compelled to write one. I’ve been seeing Dr. Kappelman for a couple of years and she is simply the best. Don’t waste time looking for any other dermatologist. Every single time I’ve seen her, she radiates with such joy and compassion when greeting me. She’s extremely knowledgeable and takes time to address any concerns and questions. She wants you to be happy! And I always leave there feeling great. I called in September to make an appointment and the first available wasn’t until November. I would of been willing to wait but thankfully, there was a cancellation

Dr Kappelman and her staff make you feel so comfortable in their office. From the moment you walk in the office you feel welcome. The professionalism and expertise are bar none. Any adverse reviews are non-believeable. I never leave reviews but I had to voice my opinion on this practice. Look no further for a medical or cosmetic physician.

I had my first appt with the assistant physician. I previously went to a DMG Dr that moved further away. I arrived early and was put in an exam room to fill out the few forms. My appt started only a few minutes from my scheduled time and I was out of there in about a half hour. Everyone I dealt with was polite. The reason I knocked off some stars is because of the process and the atmosphere. I left feeling like I was rushed out of there. There was never any friendly chit chat like other Dr offices. It was almost a robotic experience, sort of like an assembly line. No one took the time to ask any

Myself and my family have been to Kappelman Dermatology many, many times and have always had an amazing experience. Dr. Kappelman and her PA Tamara always take the time to explain and educate me on skin conditions and prescriptions, and her staff is just as awesome! I would HIGHLY recommend her. There were things wrong with me that multiple dermatologists couldn’t figure but Dr. Kappelman knew within the first few minutes of my visit, then proved it with a biopsy. I am truly grateful I found her!!

I became a patient about 6 years ago and even when I have moved out of the Chicago-land area, this Dr and her office make such a great team, that I have driven a few hours to see her when I needed a dermatologist. She takes the time with her patients and offers top notch medical treatment. The office is always clean and you never have to wait long to see the doctor. I would check her out when you need someone in this specialty. The office building they are located in always has great parking available and lobby contains some nice pieces of art.

A Really bad experience after the fact .
I came in to have a mole or growth removed on my upper arm .
Dr. Kappelman removed it and said I was good to go and sent it to the lab to be tested ,everything came back negative.
A few months later it grew back ,probably did not cut deep or wide enough, but another local dermatologist removed it with no issues and it never came back ;this was over 2 years ago
I was also billed over $600 which I had to pay out of pocket because of my deductible .The other dermatologist bills it as a specialist office visit for $40 .
Other than the poor service Dr. Kappelman

Horrible experience!!!! Made appt.online, appt. confirmed by phone. I indicated my husband has and HMO insurance when filling out his forms online. However, when he arrived at the office and presented his Insurance card, all of sudden he was told they are "not accepting new patients"????? WHAT?????!!!
He was also told he needed a referral to be seen, which may be accurate for HMO, however, why wasn't that told to him prior to showing up, or on the "DocStop" website... No mention of a referral was made until he arrived a the office.
He was told to go to his primary doctor and obtain a referral
