Services
We offer regular classes that teach Buddhist meditation and the Buddhist way of life. The Center is a member of the New Kadampa Tradition following the Teachings and example of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, a fully accomplished meditation master and internationally renowned Teacher of Buddhism. Our teachings include advice on positive thinking, relaxation techniques and practical advice for solving everyday problems.
If we do not strive to develop our wisdom, we shall always remain ignorant of ultimate truth - the true nature of reality. Although we wish for happiness, our ignorance leads us to engage in non-virtuous actions, which are the main cause of all our suffering. If we do not cultivate a good heart, our selfish motivation destroys harmony and good relationships with others.
Everyone, regardless of their level of experience or background, can benefit from the classes & courses offered on the General Program (GP). GP classes are highly accessible, designed to address everyday problems with simple and practical advice that makes sense according to our daily experience. The GP classes provide a basic introduction to Buddhist teachings and meditations.
The Foundation Program (FP) is designed for students who have gained a basic understanding of Kadampa Buddhist practice and are interested in pursuing a formalized and committed study program. Through regular teachings and meditation, systematic study, and group discussion, the Foundation Program offers the same training followed by spiritual practitioners in an unbroken lineage dating back to Buddha Shakyamuni.
The Teacher Training Program (TTP) is designed for people who wish to train as authentic Dharma Teachers within the New Kadampa Tradition or who simply want to engage with Buddha's teachings in the deepest possible manner.
In addition to completing the study of fourteen texts of Sutra and Tantra (see below), students are required to observe certain commitments with regard to behavior and way of life, and to complete a number of meditation retreats.
