Services
Our physicians do the work they do because it is their passion. During football season, you will find our providers on the fields at several local high schools, providing sideline medical assistance to the players who hope and dream to play at a collegiate level and, perhaps, one day, in the NFL. Our providers volunteer their time to help keep these players safe, giving them every advantage in making those dreams come true.
At your first visit with our practice, our goal is to evaluate your health needs and receive feedback from you, about what has brought you in. In many cases, this will include taking current X-rays, to give the providers a real-time picture of the problem area. It will be important to arrive at this visit at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled time, in order to complete preliminary assessments and any remaining paperwork.
Your surgery will be performed at one of our two trusted facilities; Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, or the SanTan Surgery Center. Most surgeries are performed on an outpatient basis meaning you will return home the same day. If necessary, you may be kept overnight. Of course, joint replacement surgery will require admission to the hospital for 1 or 2 days.
Tendonitis, an inflammation, irritation, and swelling of the tendon, comes from an injury or doing the things you love or need to do-over and over again. Repetitive motions, no matter how ordinary, can cause small micro-tears that occur each time you use your tendon. When the micro tears do not heal properly, tendinosis (tendon degeneration) can occur.
Would you like the providers at Sports & Orthopaedic Specialists to serve as Team Physician for your sports club, or your child's high school? Call today to schedule a free consultation in the office, or bring the providers to your next Booster Club or Sports Club meeting! When winning is the name of the game, every little bit helps-especially when it comes to injuries.

I had a total shoulder replacement in June 2021, followed by physical therapy to regain my range of motion and strength. After 8 weeks, I was at 90% range, and started adding weights to my routine. At just under 6 months, I am doing everything I did before, and more, without the pain. Many thanks to Dr. Weinstein, Nicole, Theresa and the team, I should have had this done several years ago!!

I never write reviews, but I am dumbfounded by this place. The doctor requires all previous medical records (from 3 years ago) before I can even make an appointment for my kid that dislocated her knee. The doctor already has access to a current MRI but that's not enough for him to make a diagnose on the current injury. Scary!! At the lease this place could have reviewed her MRI and started her on PT while waiting for medical records. I was able to find another Sports Orthopedic doctor that can read MRIs/Xrays and treat based on the current results without the wait of medical records. I feel better

I have seen Dr Weinstein several times for MRI reviews of both shoulders and cortisone shots
He is a very compassionate doctor and is equally good at explaining options such as Phys Therapy or possible surgery. For each shoulder I chose Phys Therapy and the extent of my shoulder pain has significantly diminished. I gladly give Dr Weinstein 5 *s

The staff at Sports & Orthopaedic Specialists and very friendly, in a good mood, and willing to help you and answer your questions.
I have spoken to Dr. Weinstein and I feel very comfortable in scheduling my knee surgery with him. He was honest and forthcoming. Can't ask for too much more than that.

Had a mishap and injured my shoulder. I was referred to SOS by my GP. After being sent for an MRI, I had my first consult with Dr. Weinstein. Fantastic visit, he confirmed that I tore my right rotator cuff. The following month I had surgery, followed by my post-op visit. I then began PT. I had three follow ups, meeting with Dr Weinstein and his staff. They took great care to explain each step I took, and I was prepared for the coming weeks. I was told that you can not take a passive approach with shoulder surgery. Six months out from surgery, I am closing in on my goal of getting full use of my

Dr. Weinstein and his staff are polite and professional. I had surgery on my knee done by him. He gave me a through description of the procedure beforehand and answered all of my questions. One of my co-workers had her knee repaired by him a few years ago and it has held up well. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone needing Orthopedic surgery or care for sports related injuries.

I am what you would call an "active adult." (Much nicer than saying mature person whose joints have worn out.) My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Weinstein and PA Nicole D'Apice for a few years. Dr Weinstein has repaired my torn tendons ligaments imcluding, a hamstring and elbows and has done partial replacemements on both of my knees. He is an Excellent surgeon with the Best bedside manner. He's never in a hurry and will explain the problem so you understand. I have seen Nicole for pre and post-op appointments and have found her to be skilled and always very friendly. We do not hesitate

I contacted this office because my son broke his thumb. I communicated that I would be a cash pay patient but would need the fee to be processed through my health sharing program. I was quoted $450 for a standard cast (no surgery needed). The service was great...my issue is communication, or lack of.
No surgery was needed and a cast was put on my son. A follow up visit was needed and scheduled. We attended that visit and everything looked good. Another visit was scheduled and the tech (I'm assuming she was a tech) told me, because of the heat and sweaty boys, they changed out the cast half way
