According to the American Physical Therapy Association, back pain is the most commonly reported pain in the United States. In fact, one out of every four Americans has experienced back pain in the last three months! What's the difference between back pain and sciatica? While back pain and sciatica are similar, there are some differences that are frequently overlooked.
Your neck is an important part of everyday movement, and severe pain can make it difficult to function normally. Neck pain can be incapacitating and painful, especially if it extends from your neck to your shoulders or down your arm.
Physical therapy can help you get back to your normal, pain-free function, even if your neck pain is currently preventing you from doing daily tasks, such as sitting up straight in your chair at work or looking down to tie your shoes. The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) estimates that one-third of the population will experience neck pain in any given year.

Because we use our shoulders for almost every movement, it's a big deal if they bother us! There are numerous causes of shoulder pain, and the severity of the pain can range from minor discomfort caused by a pulled muscle to agonizing bone-on-bone friction caused by arthritis. Shoulder pain can develop as a result of an injury, making it painful to move and use the arm in a normal way.

JJ was an amazing PT! I can in due to an injury lifting and it was limiting from working out how I wanted to so I decided to try physical therapy. JJ is very knowledgeable and she has an amazing personality. The sessions felt catered towards me and it felt like we worked on a plan together to resolve the root cause of my pain. She is very patient, as I can imagine how difficult I was. I would say I have a higher pain tolerance than most and most of my symptoms were subtle during day to day activities, so it was hard to pinpoint things that helped. JJ was able to figure it out and now I am back

I’m a student at ASU and I went to physical therapy at Orthopedic Sports Therapy to help with my knee pain. They are located about a mile away from ASU and I was able to walk to and from my PT appointments without a problem, which was nice since I don’t have a car at campus (it’s maybe a 20-25 minute walk from the Tempe campus to Orthopedic Sports Therapy). The staff there are very welcoming and friendly, and my physical therapist, Ryan Denny, was very encouraging and helped me to rehabilitate my knee. I am now able to exercise regularly without knee pain, which was not possible for me before

Have been dealing with 3 issues – constant back ache, body core strength and rotator cuff tear.
Working one on one with Dr Ryan Denny a regiment of exercises has eliminated the back issue.
We are presently progressing on increasing my body core strength and reducing my shoulder pain while increasing my arm and shoulder mobility.
I have worked with other facilities in the past for a variety of issues, but Orthopedic Sports Therapy has been the most thorough in treating my needs.
I highly recommend Orthopedic Sports Therapy.

Went to Orthopedic Sports Therapy for Knee issue. The issue was treated by Dr. Ryan Denny. Got excellent results.
I had started having trouble with right knee around 3-4 years back. The knee used to be sore for weeks after doing long downhill hikes such that it used to be difficult to walk straight. First thought it will get cured by itself but over the years issue got worse that I was not very confident if I will be able to do long hikes like Grand Canyon Rim to Rim again.
Went in for treatment twice a week for a month and then once a week for another month. Never felt like it was a treatment

I received a customized nutrition program with one on one coaching from Pam Neuharth from Orthopedic Sports Therapy and she helped me lose 23 pounds in 2.5 months. I am in menopause and I did not think it was possible to get lean again, but this plan worked great for me. I know of 7 other women who have also lost 20-35 pounds on this nutrition program with Pam's coaching and so I recommend it with confidence.

I have been to Orthopedic Sports Therapy for three different issues and have worked with Dr. Jessica Johnson each time. JJ is professional, personable, efficient and very knowledgeable. She has an unlimited “bag of tricks” to address any issue that I have had. It has always been enjoyable and effective to work with JJ and she will always be my “go to” physical therapist.
Additionally, the entire staff at Orthopedic Sports Therapy is incredibly friendly, welcoming and efficient. They have always made me feel valued as a consumer of their services and as a person. Out of a possible 5 stars

What a find. I visited Orthopedic Sports Therapy for two different issues after consulting an orthopedic surgeon who suggested a procedure for my back pain. Pam, in a few short, organized, methodical sessions, relieved my pain, made suggestions to prevent future issues and sent me home with homework.

This is my second time at PT with Orthopedic Sports Therapy, and it truly was life changing. I worked with Austin and Pam, and they are both so smart and kind. Working with Austin was really fun, even though the exercises could be really challenging. Pam really helped me push myself and now I can do movements I had stopped doing years ago. I'm so grateful for these people!! Also, the office staff is amazing and talking to them every session made my day. I'll miss them. They are all AMAZING.

I saw JJ for my elbow pain. She was really thorough in her evaluation and treatment .
Rather than focusing on just the immediate elbow area - she did a complete evaluation of my upper body to figure out all the possible reasons causing the issue.
Every session was taken care of by JJ herself - never by just trainees/attendants.
Setting up and rescheduling appointments were so easy. I really liked that this facility is open so early - makes it so much convenient to visit without affecting work.

My really great experience with Orthopedic Sports Therapy started before I even walked in the door! I reached out to several PT places via email to inquire about cost for services both with and without insurance. Alyssa got back to me quickly and answered all of my questions. She sounded like she was happy to help me (which isn't always the case when you reach out to places)! I decided to go with OST over other places because of Alyssa's friendly and quick responses. Other places were difficult to get in contact with/we played phone & email tag and I don't have time for that

I can't say enough great things about this facility. The therapists there are amazing. So professional yet warm and caring. I saw both JJ and Cole who were both just wonderful. I had a knee injury which was painful and slow to heal, then had another injury on the same knee! After seeing them there is no pain and I have full range of motion in my knee. They were also so amazing with helping me with my arthritis of the hip. The difference from when I came in and the time I left was just incredible. The office staff is also outstanding. I found this Physical Therapy office after having a total knee replacement. Was very satisfied with this facility. No techs here. At each visit you will be evaluated and treated by your assigned physical therapist. My PT was Jessica (JJ). She knew when to push and when to pull back. JJ listened when I hit rough spots during rehab and was always very encouraging. The front desk staff is also outstanding and it is very easy to schedule an appointment. I would highly recommend this office!!

I randomly started having pelvic/prostate issues my pcp/urologist couldn't figure out the source. I grew tired of paying $$$ for meds etc that didn't seem to help. Started looking up pelvic floor physical therapy and my urologist said go for it. Found Pam's place online when looking for a specialist in male pelvic floor therapy (what? That's a thing?)
After just a few sessions with her I've had infinite improvement. Her gentle kindess is a much welcomed difference to a traditional doctor's bedside manner. Genuine. No pressure, no assumptions, and didn't feel

I've been working with Cole the past couple months after a very involved shoulder labrum repair/bicep tenodesis procedure. Cole has done an excellent job during this lengthy and difficult rehab process. He's extremely attentive and sensitive to the rehab progression and does a great job tailoring your in house visits as well as home exercises based on need. I've been to quite a few physical therapist facilities and definitely would recommend Orthopedic Sports Therapy. Rather than working with multiple techs or PT assistants, you are with one physical therapist the entire time and

Cole did an awesome job at fixing my hip issues. I had been to a physical therapy before at a different facility and it was a total scam. Not these guys- whatever Cole recommended I do, I did, and it worked! Which is kind of crazy. So my advice is listen to what they say, follow directions and everything will work out! Hopefully I don't need PT again, but if I ever do, I'll be coming back to Cole :) Thanks again for all the help!

If you are looking for a physical therapist, I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Ryan. Keeping my body in optimum mobility is extremely important for my aerial work, and I am hesitant to trust new providers. However, my experience was Ryan has been nothing but 1000% positive! He is so knowledgable in his work and really cares about YOUR recovery and how YOUR body is responding. It is not one-size-fits-all as he will alter his treatment and your "homework" exercises to ensure that you stay moving in the right direction. I had a hamstring injury that I left alone for 2 years waiting for it to

I came into this office with severe pain in my left arm and shoulder due to a neck injury. After spending time working with Pam and Ryan, I highly recommend both of them for treatment.
I spent most of my time working with Ryan. He did joint manipulation and taught me how to strengthen my upper body to prevent the pain.
I felt hopeless upon entering physical therapy and left being able to be active again. I have now started working on strengthening in a local gym to continue the self therapy and to become stronger than ever before.
