Shore Acres Yacht Club
First opening in 1941, the club and the clubhouse have undergone a lot of change. In 2012 during Tropical Storm Sandy the entire club house was lost and officially reopened in 2019. Today the club serves its very active and diverse membership needs by providing various club programs, events, and facilities.

In addition to the striking views offered from its clubhouse, Shore Acres Yacht Club boasts one of the finest junior sailing programs on the bay, several well known local sailors have come out of our program and gone on to great success in and off the bay. The clubhouse is open nightly, Wednesday through Sunday (minimum hours listed below), although the boardwalk and grounds are accessible by our members at any time.
Services
Shore Acres Yacht Club is situated on what some would call the finest racing spot on Barnegat Bay. Just off Green Island there is consistent southerly breeze and open expanse for race courses.

Our new clubhouse boasts ample vehicle parking, beach / hoist / ramp launching options, several large decks and docks for spectators, and our club house has two floors of spacious interior with air conditioning and heat so you are comfortable no matter what the regatta day weather brings.
Online food and drink menu / online ordering for the SAYC bar, kitchen, sailing, and a partial ship store. Order a wide variety of sailing apparel and gear with customization such as the SAYC burgee, your name, boat name, ect. Shore Acres Yacht Club offers dry boat storage for a variety of vessels on our property for either a specific season or the full year.
SAYC extends reciprocal privileges to members of fellow BBYRA yacht clubs. Members of US Sailing recognized yacht clubs are welcome as guests of SAYC on an occasional basis. Those competing in SAYC sponsored sailing events will be extended guest privileges. Many yacht clubs around the world offer temporary reciprocity to visiting Shore Acres Yacht Club members.
When mariners started crossing the oceans, flags were an important communications tool between ships when at sea and even ashore. Lives depended on correct interpretation of their meaning, especially on fighting ships.

Today, proper use of flags is not just a way to identify vessels and boating organizations, but to give important instructions, make announcements, warn of approaching storms, and mostly to honor and keep alive the naval traditions and seamanship spirit of those sailors that preceded us.Flags have different shapes and colors depending on their function.
