Three summers ago we bought this Sunfish from an LYC member. It is an old boat, but the dolly was new, we bought a brand new sail from Colie and made various other repairs to get the boat in good working order for my son to use for Program. He used it for 4 weeks in Summer 2018 and it has not been used since.
We offer our members access to a 58 slip marina and first-class amenities for their sailboats and motor yachts. Sheltered by our recently renovated docks and bulkheads and just steps from the full-service amenities that the Club offers, it's no wonder that many of our members have been keeping their boats with us for decades.
The Scuttlebutt, our weekly newsletter, has been keeping members apprised of the many happenings at and around LYC since 2015. Inside you'll find an eclectic variety of events and activities for all interests and ages. For decades, we have developed great sailors, nourishing their love for the water and providing them with the best in equipment, facilities and instruction. We don't just teach kids how to sail-we teach them to love sailing. We offer junior sailing instruction from June to August for children of all skill levels on a variety of boats.
Specifically designed for absolute beginners, we'll focus on the basics of sailing, including rigging a boat, setting a course, sailing and steering, terminology, knots and sailing safety. Everything you always wanted to know! We'll gather on the porch before each lesson for a "chalk talk" to discuss the day's objectives and then get on the water to practice and apply those skills.
