I have a 2000 VW Jetta TDI that had a problem with the oil pump that my regular mechanic was not able to fix. These guys got it done right away, no problems since. Excellent and prompt service, very professional and knowledgeable, HIGHLY recommend if you have a foreign diesel car. This is the place to go.

I love driving a VW because every town I live in has a great aftermarket shop ran by smart capable humans. Pete Lea's shop and crew are awesome. Never a hassle, fair prices, informative, knowledgeable, and a 10% discount, when paying with cash money. Even my dentist only offers 5%. I love these people. And I popped in for a check engine light at 9am and the part was ordered and replaced by 1 pm. The lady at the command desk knows how to roll. (Sorry, I'm not recalling your name. But you're amazing ❤️)

Pete is a great guy and this is an excellent shop. They know what they're doing here and there are real technicians doing the work rather than a bunch of teenage monkeys ruining your car. If you're looking for quality rather than cheap this is one of the few good places in town. They are one of the few places around that know how to work on my Vanagon and they do it in a timely manner as opposed to the other local foreign car shops that will have you waiting for several weeks. Pete is a friendly and helpful guy and I'm glad this place is around! One of the last real, down to earth

This is my 4th time taking a car to Pete Lea's. Decent rate for labor, $102/hr. 10% discount if paying in cash. Repair estimates have been around $70-$120.
They WILL NOT tell you you need repairs that aren't necessary! After having my 330K+ mi 2003 Nissan Maxima "diagnosed" as needing $2,600 worth of repairs at Firestone during a routine check during an oil change, I took it to Pete Lea's and they said it was fine.
Was told by CRAP that alternator was firing low. Bought a replacement and took it to Pete Lea's, they did more extensive testing and said my current

I had a pre-purchase inspection performed for a car by appointment. They were fast yet still very thorough. Once It was done they let me know immediately. They also had no problem answering the many questions I had after the inspection was done. Both the customer service representative and the technician were super friendly and very informative. Great people to work with, and I would do business with them again.

Moved to the area about a year and a half ago from Arizona, where I had been taken advantage of from several auto mechanics. Imagine my surprise when I went to Pete Lea's and they told me I didn't even need a tune up. They checked my car over changed my oil and fixed my oil leak by tightening the bolts. I didn't need to take out a second mortgage to pay! Yay, love this place! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I am very impressed with Pete and his team of highly qualified professionals. Pete is honest, knowledgeable, transparent and patient in my interactions with him. Pete could have easily charged me double for fixing my jetta tdi and I wouldn't have known better but he did not because he cares and that makes all the difference. Pete has my business for as long as I have my vw, which in his more than capable hands, will be a long time to come.

I'm on my second car since I started going to Pete Lea's about five years ago. I agree with other reviewers that he's not the cheapest, but the price is fair and you get what you pay for. At Pete Lea's that is excellent, honest service.
I'm always happy with the service and they give an honest assessment of what is going on. They never try to sell services you don't need, they only do what you need to keep your car running well and safely. Pete will take the time to drive the car for a while himself to figure out a difficult diagnosis. I get all my routine maintenance

When Jiffy Lube ruined my car, Pete took great care of me. I chose his shop based on the positive online reviews and wasn't disappointed. He gave me an estimate which was reasonable. When not all the work was necessary, he let me know and the total cost came in less than the original quote. He is a straight shooter who cares about his reputation and his customers. I will be returning to Pete the next time my car needs service.

I just moved into the Olympia Washington area from California and within the first week of living here, my cars engine starts smoking. There I am on the side of the road without any idea of where to go to get my car fixed. I searched within my phone for the nearest repair shop, and Pete Lea popped up. I promptly called a tow truck and had my car towed over there. It was late at night and upon arriving they were obviously closed, so I locked up my car and proceeded to head home. The next morning, they began work on it right away, they diagnosed the problem and were very communicative throughout

Pete Lea is an honest and fairly priced mechanic who works on foreign cars. He's not the cheapest shop in town, but he's not particularly expensive either - he's very fairly priced for the great work he and his employees do.
Case in point:
In 2003, my partner and I came through Olympia in our '78 VW camper, which was having some engine trouble. Pete hopped in the van with us and we went for a short drive to demonstrate the problem. When he returned to the shop, he looked at the engine, popped a vacuum hose back into place and replaced a second hose. Then he took us inside
