Lots of business lawyers only do "transactional" work. They never step foot in a courtroom, so they never see how the contracts and other legal documents they have drawn up are enforced. On the other hand, lots of litigators only do litigation. They don't know what its like to negotiate a deal and then draw up the legal documents that are supposed to protect their clients' interests in the deal.
We believe it is important to do both. It's difficult for a transactional lawyer to draft a document that will stand up in court if he or she has never stepped foot in court. Likewise, it's difficult for a litigator to try to convince a judge or jury of the intent and meaning of a contract or other legal document if he or she has never been involved in negotiating an actual deal.

Insurance coverage and recovery litigation typically involves complex legal issues. Although insurance policies are contracts, courts often apply legal principles and rules that are unique to the field of insurance. Due to the complicated nature of insurance disputes, courts often look to decisions rendered by state and federal courts in other jurisdictions to determine the outcome of a dispute.
Kuhn Firm only handles appeals on select cases. The fact that Kuhn Firm represented a client in the trial court does not automatically mean that we will agree to handle an appeal on the case. Excellent issue analysis and communication skills are an absolute necessity. As a result, many litigation lawyers and trial attorneys do not handle appeals.
The lawyers at Kuhn Firm serve as outside general counsel for numerous companies, ranging from small S-Corporations and LLCs to medium sized construction companies, retailers, consulting firms and other businesses to large national and international firms in the banking, investment, construction, insurance, retail and manufacturing industries.
