I am Evonne Jenkins a licensed therapist. I am a graduate of University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a double major in social work and sociology. I pursued a Master of Social Work degree from the Joint Master of Social Work program with NC & AT and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
I realize that no two people are the same and as such tailor my therapy to meet the specific needs of my clients. Whether you are struggling with sexual trauma, relationships, anxiety, depression or any other issue, I will help you recognize underlying problems, fully realize your strengths and adjust certain behaviors and thoughts to see things a different, healthier way.
No one wants to admit they get angry, especially when it gets out of control and hurts the ones we love. If you answered yes to any of the above questions, it may be time to consider anger management therapy. Anger issues aren't uncommon and the first step towards change is admittance of the problem.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT is a short-term, problem-focused form of behavioral treatment that helps people see the difference between beliefs, thoughts and feelings, and free them from unhelpful patterns of behavior. CBT is grounded in the belief that it is a person's perception of events - rather than the events themselves - that determines how he or she will feel and act in response.
Is anxiety taking over your life? Does it feel like you can't control it no matter how hard you try? Have you already tried therapy but found it ineffective? If this sounds like you, I'm confident I can help. My practice offers the most effective forms of treatment, to get the relief from anxiety that you deserve.
