Services
Western Reserve Dermatology has been caring for the dermatologic needs of Northeast Ohioians and surrounding areas for over 10 years. Dr. Faith Durden, M.D. is a diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology, and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She has been in practice for over 20 years, and has enjoyed the relationships fostered by private practice for over a decade.
Laser therapy uses a sophisticated light energy source for permanent hair reduction. We are able to treat most areas of the body as well as all skin types. Therapy typically requires four to six treatments, which are spread at least four to six weeks apart. In contrast to electrolysis, which involves inserting a needle into each hair follicle, we are able to treat hundreds of hair follicles at one time, thus making it less intense.
Xeomin is used to effectively treat intramuscular conditions such as blepharospasm, or abnormal involuntary closing of the eyelid. However, it is also quite effective in diminishing the appears of frown lines, crow's feet and bunny lines. This filler is injected directly into lines and wrinkles instantly plumping and minimizing them.
What causes skin cancer? Very simply, sunburn and UV light can damage your skin, and this damage can lead to skin cancer. There are also other determining factors, including heredity and environmental factors. The total amount of sun received over the years and overexposure resulting in sunburn can cause skin cancer.
The most common type of sun-induced skin cancer, basal cell carcinoma generally grows slowly, comparatively. Basal cell carcinoma generally occurs on the head and neck region, often the nose, but may occur on any part of the body. A board certified dermatologist can help diagnose this and other types of sun-induced skin cancer, typically with, and promptly coordinate your management.

I have been going to Dr. Durden for years, as has my mother. I find her to be professional and compassionate. She has found spots that needed MOHs surgery that I couldn’t even see. The surgeons did a phenomenal jobs and the scars cannot even be seen to the naked eye. I cannot say enough about her to do her justice!!

I’ve always been afraid to go to dermatologist’s because my past experiences with them haven’t been very pleasant and they’ve been rushed visits. It’s the exact opposite at this office. I was nervous to have a scalp biopsy and the young lady (I didn’t catch her name) that was assisting Dr.Durden consoled me as I was crying because I was both nervous and tired of having skin issues and not knowing what was wrong. Dr. Durden is an absolute GOD SEND. She answered any questions I had and gave me some options as far as my skin condition. My only regret is not having come here sooner!

The receptionist was very helpful and friendly. I was then seen by Dr. Durden. She listened to my issues and addressed all of them. I had a procedure done and was given thorough follow-up directions. Overall this was a very good visit. I will be coming here regularly as needed for the well-being of my skin and hair.
