If you've been charged with Public Intoxication / being Drunk in Public, time is valuable. If you were intoxicated at the time, you may not be able to remember details that could be very important to your case. CVC - 23223 - no driver or passenger shall have an open container of alcohol or cannabis while in a motor vehicle on a highway. CVC - 23229.1 - for-hire vehicles with open containers when transporting persons under 21. These sections make it illegal for a person to operate an automobile with an open alcoholic beverage in the vehicle, even if the beverage is not being, or has not been, consumed.
If you or someone you care about, has received a citation for any of these charges, unless aggressive and effective action is taken, likely 1) your driver's license will likely be suspended for a minimum of 1 year*, and 2) it will appear on your record that you were in possession of false Government documents.
