Divorce is a life-changing event. Whether it's fault-based or no-fault, no one looks forward to the uphill climb ahead of them in trying to get divorce matters settled. An experienced attorney needs to be at your side from start to finish, and Attorney Teresa Mendoza Burris is a San Diego lawyer here to assist you.
Divorce is not the only option you and your spouse have if irreconcilable differences or the irretrievable breakdown of the marriage have taken place. At the Law Office of Teresa Mendoza Burris, we understand your situation and are here to help. She's been serving the area since 1988 at her family-owned and locally operated firm.
When your divorce is finalized, the whole process will have a significant impact on the children. Their best interest has to be presented in a court of law. You can never take these matters into your own hands since the kids will need legal protection along with guidance to help them get through this difficult time.
Every parent in California is obligated to financially support his or her child. The purpose is to provide housing, food, clothing, medical care, and educational expenses. There's no way around this unless the parent has a court-recognized excuse for not doing so. Don't just "deal with it" if your spouse hasn't been paying child support.
