Owners Steve and Angela Gorazd work with their team of winemakers, chefs and event planners in order to make the location the area's leading winery.
Hidden Lake Winery, located in rural Aviston, IL, is situated in Silent Forest, a wooded parcel of land abounding in local lore. These woods have been well known to those who hunt deer and forage for wild mushrooms. Bootleggers hid their still back in these woods to dodge the revenuers in the early 1900s.

Our wines are currently made with local grapes and are crafted in our cellar by our vintner, Cory Kunkle. The Champagne Hall is an elegant venue with a grand staircase leading to a balcony that overlooks the room. A connected screened-in porch that provides a panoramic view of the winery is available. Adjacent to the venue is our lakeside patio, a beautiful ceremony site with a magnificent backdrop of the tranquil fountain and peaceful waterfall.

Hidden Lake is such a relaxing place! Excellent food and staff. The venues are beautiful! We have had a baby shower and many celebrations here. The owners, Steve and Angela are so professional and easy to work with. Angela and the staff went above and beyond for our daughter in laws baby shower. We are looking forward to our son’s wedding here next year. I know it will be beautiful!

Let me first start by saying that I have never once posted a bad review. Ever. I worked for 6 years in the food industry where I served customers almost every day of the week. I am the first to admit that I have made mistakes as a server and have had bad days with my job. However, I am choosing to write this review because I do not ever want another bride to experience what my friend had to experience this past weekend with her wedding. This venue is stunning. The views, the food, the cabins. Every bit of this venue is ideal except for the owner, Angela. And it's such a shame. Rude is an understatement

I private messaged the winery on Facebook so I could give them a chance to acknowledge their poor customer service, and what do they do? Not answer me, then block me. Boy does this place have a lot to learn about customer service. It goes like this, you give a service to a customer, and they either return or not, or tell their friends and family what a good or bad time they had. In turn business either grows or declines. The female owner of this business should not be dealing directly with customers under any circumstances. And I am not even sure I'd want her treating me for a medical condition

Do not waste your money staying in one of the cabins. They are falling apart and dirty. We stayed at 2 cabins June 11, 2021. Ours had ants on the small counter. The tub was dirty with dead bugs in it. The bathroom door handle was falling off and would only close if you put the trash can in front of it. The bathroom floor tile was cracked with missing grout and soft like you would fall thru. The blinds were broken and only went up on 1 side. The shower head leaked when the tub was turned on. Should I continue with the 2nd cabin? I did tell the front desk about the door handle and nothing was done

First my girlfriend and I booked our stay for a different date then our actual. Unfortunately a snow storm messed our first stay up so we had to reschedule. The owners understood and helped us reschedule with ease! Our actual date we arrived on 3/2/21. We were a little lost finding the place but a easy phone call and we were guided in! The owner greeted us and gave us the details to get into the cabin after checking in. The cabin was perfect! The size was great the bed was amazing and the tub in the room was the best! We enjoyed a wine tasting of many different wines. We recommend the 12 paws.

My wife and I absolutely love this place. The owners are very nice and took time out of their busy schedule to talk to us about the wine making process. If you like sweet apple wine you have got to try Twelve Paws! So far I've only ever been to Hidden Lake during the colder months of the year, but I think we will be coming back when it gets warmer for some outside live music. I love this place!
