From the beginning, our experienced teachers prepare children to be focused, independent, innovative learners as well as responsible, respectful, and mindful individuals.

Montessori is an educational philosophy based on the belief that a child learns best within a social environment that supports and nurtures each individual's unique development pattern. Montessori education was founded by Dr. Maria Montessori.

Born in 1870, Dr. Maria Montessori, the first woman graduate in Italy to become certified as a medical doctor, developed an educational method that still challenges the way we think about teaching our children. She based her educational methods on scientific observations made while working with a number of children from different cultural, social, and economic backgrounds.
Central Montessori Preschool and Kindergarten includes our Toddler program (18 months - 3 years) and our Casa program (3 years to 6 years). Before school sessions (7:00 - 8:30 am) and after school (3:00 - 6:00 pm) are also available. Central Montessori School is a co-educational day school for children aged 18months to 6 years old.
Central Montessori Preschool and Kindergarten in Encinitas offers "Summer Camp" each July and August for ages 18 months to 6 years. It's a great way to expose your child to the Montessori preschool philosophy of early childhood education. Central Montessori School is a co-educational day school for children aged 18months to 6 years old.

I would absolutely recommend Central Montessori to friends and family in the area. My kids spent the last 1.5 years there and they had fun, learned so much (and their approach made them also love learning), made great friends, and I felt like the staff and owners truly cared about the happiness and well being of the children.

Considering it's location (in a mall next to homegoods), I probably wouldn't have given it a second thought except that another mom highly recommended it. Don't let the location deter you, behind the small entrance is a large facility with many well put together

I can't say enough good things about CMS! My 2.5 year old daughter has attended two other preschools in the past, neither of which compared to the experience we've had here! The staff has gone above and beyond to keep the kids healthy during these strange COVID times, all while being there to support us parents who need childcare and don't have the option of keeping them home full time. I was very nervous to put her back in school, but she is truly thriving and I feel confident that the teachers and staff at CMS are doing everything in their power to do what's best for the children

This is the absolute best school you could EVER send your kids to, no matter where you are in San Diego. The individual attention and love they demonstrate to every kid and family is incomparable to any school in San Diego. Also, during these tough times of Covid-19, they are taking the strictest of measures to insure safety to all children and families. They are going above and beyond with strict hand washing, temperature checks, and teacher face masks. Not only is it the safest place for my child, it is the best place for my daughter to emotionally, socially, and educationally develop. I would

My family has had a very positive experience at CMS. Five years ago, when my son was ready for preschool I toured around a variety of preschools. I was immediately impressed with Ms. Ban, the head of the school. She provides excellent leadership and is always available. She has been an amazing support for my family throughout the years.
My children had the opportunity to be in class with Ms. Grace and Ms. Belen. They complement each other well and provide a loving, supportive, calm and fun learning environment. The teacher's aides have been so wonderful to my kids giving them assistance

This has been a great preschool for our family. We have 2 kids currently enrolled and it's our second year here with plans to attend again next year. The teachers work with each child to meet their individual needs. The school also works to present interesting activities throughout the year that keep all the kids excited and engaged. We will miss this environment when we move on from CMS.

Our grandson attended CMS for preschool. His experience there was great and ours was as well. Ms. Ban and Mr. Jay have provided a well organized, clean and safe space for the children. His teachers were also excellent educators with caring hearts. This is clearly the best preschool in our area.

So going on here for about 5 years and with my second child! this school is really great! I owe alot to the teacher Ms. Yolanda, she saved my child's life when she was choking on a grape i packed her.She hid her face, and if not properly trained, a teacher wouldn't have noticed her face was purple! Ms. Yolanda noticed her odd behavior, saw she was choking and did the Heimlich maneuver to save her life. We are forever thankful! Also, my child has a problem with separation anxiety which they totally helped with. She will wear her pajamas to school but the caring teachers help her adjust

Absolutely the best preschool in North County hands down! We moved to Carlsbad and visited 95% of the preschools. To be honest, we did not visit this school at first bc I was not keen on going to a school in a shopping plaza. After not loving any of the schools (rowdy kids, bad smells, inexperienced teachers) I happen to be at Home Goods and decided to drop in with child and husband in tow. We were given an immediate tour and knew this was the school for us! It was quiet when we walked in, all the kids were concentrating on their work. It smelled nice. And over the course of two years I fell in

This school is amazing. My son attended for three years an I have every intention of having my twin boys attend as well. Everyone at the school is loving. My son is headed into 1st grade and is able to do 2nd grade work due to the attention he received at this school. The structure is perfect and the love he received daily is what helped him excel on all levels.

Please be very thorough before sending your child here. I took my second son here based on a recommendation and when I toured the school the director was very nice and everything seemed fine, I never got a bad feeling from this place. But after we started, my son was crying when I left, crying when I picked him up, with salt tracks down his cheeks from the crying throughout the day. The teacher was nice, as was the director, but they just didn't know what to do. Some of the other kids were mean and on a couple occasions, I saw them push my son and yell in his face when he was just standing

A concern. A vendor that also services my preschool told me that staff members pull up or lifts toddlers by their hands and they see it all the time. Since I have a 3 year old child myself, this causes concern.

Our family had the pleasure to be a part of Central Montessori School and we are very amazed by their perfection. I have 2 kids the both went to Central Montessori School and they've both learned so much! I am very impressed by how much they know already and sometimes they teach me a few things.
The schools teachers are beyond caring and they go above and beyond to make children happy. The owners did a marvelous job at keeping the school running perfect and safe for everyone.
When both of my kids graduated and started higher grades, they knew so much.
Its really nice to see my kids learn and

An incredible school! A rich learning environment with kind, nurturing teachers. The grounds and classrooms are very well taken care of. We moved here this past summer and searched high and low, and found this school to have everything we needed. This is my child's first year there and we have only wonderful things to say about it. The school is a safe and secure environment, in a very unassuming location.

I teach elementary school at a private school in Encinitas, so I am familiar with the preschools in the area. My child has been attending CMS for two years. We love the school, the director (who is the owner) and the teachers. CMS is professional, caring and has a fantastic curriculum. We are so very thankful to have found this school!
