Our goal is to be the best provider for your auto repair needs, we are a PSC for AC Delco, the parts we use are original equipment parts or equivalent.
Don't ever let anyone tell you there's such a thing as a "free car". I got a car that needed a lot of work, but was going to be easy since I just had to sell mine to pay for it. Well it was way more work than expected. That was no one's fault except Ford's. I was expecting to pay 2x what Fred charged me, so thankfully it wasn't near as bad as it could have been.

Honda of Oakland made a complete f$&@ing mess of the service on our Honda Odyssey. One line item of suggested service read “Engine Repair - $3500.” Overall there was more than $6000 worth of repairs needed, and some of it seemed redundant.
Barry took the time to call Honda and make some sense of all their vague service reports. Then they did an inspection on the van and emailed me to explain all the work needed in detail. Barry then called me to talk out what was needed now and what work could wait. He was patient on the phone, not pushy at all.

This was my first visit to Fred's and it was a great experience. Fred is fun and professional and great to talk with. They were very thorough and organized. While doing an oil change they found something important that needed to be replaced. They replaced it and had my car back to me by midday. Great communication throughout the process. I'm so happy to have found Fred's. I had been looking for a new mechanic and a friend recommended them. I left feeling like I could trust Fred's to take good care of my car. Huge relief.

As we are new to the Alameda area, this was our first experience with Fred's Wrenchouse and we used the shop based on recommendations from the local community. We are very type A about our car maintenance and always have lots of questions to make sure we try & understand what the true issues are and then make sensible decisions around work that needs done. Fred & Barry were very patient with our questions, very thorough & informative with their analysis, and in our case, turned out to be an advocate. Through on-line research, they found that our 10 yr. old car & it's issue might be still covered
