I specialize in working with teens and adolescents who are struggling with anxiety, depression, or from a traumatic experience. Let me help you or your child get back on track by using a cognitive behavioral approach to counseling. I am trained in trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, which has proven very effective with adolescents struggling with the after effects of trauma.
If your child is coming in for counseling, I will provide a comfortable and confidential setting, where you will begin to heal through use of cognitive behavioral therapy and/or trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy. Many times, an individual will come in for counseling and the family will become involved, because our family really is a system, which helps one to function properly.

Sarah Hubbell brings her expertise in utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), along with additional evidence based practices and a down-to-earth approach to counseling. Sarah builds a quick rapport with clients and allows them a confidential space to talk about the difficult stuff they are struggling with.
Teens struggle with a variety of issues, which may cause strong emotional and behavioral responses. Individual therapy is tailored to each client and focuses on helping them gain a better understanding of their thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Sarah's goal is to help each client become an expert in their own treatment, so they can continue to be successful and maintain the skills they have utilized even after therapy ends.
Working with adolescents, the family as a whole can sometimes be affected, and utilizing family counseling as a whole or at least with the parent(s)/caregiver(s) is important. Each member of the family brings his or her own life experience and ideas to the relationship as a whole. What is the treatment for family therapy?
Sarah was trained through the State of Michigan for one year, from 2014-2015 in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). A trauma can look different to each individual. Some experiences may become traumatic and others won't. Some common traumatic experiences may include: the death of a loved one, divorce, physical/emotional/sexual abuse, witnessing violence/domestic violence, bullying, and/or serious illness or accident.
