As a graduate of Louisiana State University School of Dentistry, Dr. Katz had the privilege of studying with Dr. Kramer. She was delighted when he asked her to join him in practice a few years after graduation. Upon graduation from dental school, Dr. Katz received awards in Implant Dentistry and Dental Care for Persons with Disabilities.
Regular hygiene appointments improve your oral health by reducing the risk of gum disease and allowing us to screen for cavities and oral cancer. We are accepting new patients and are happy to see individuals or members of your entire family, from infants through great-grandparents! At your hygiene appointment, you can expect a thorough cleaning, diagnostic x-rays, and an attentive exam by Dr. Katz.
Katz repairs broken or damaged teeth, returning them to their full function and aesthetics while keeping you comfortable. Our solutions include fillings, crowns, bridges, dentures, and implants. At your restorative appointment, you can expect diagnostic x-rays followed by treatment. Dr. Katz uses local anesthesia when necessary to make your experience as pain-free as possible.
If you are looking to improve your smile, we offer several options! You can schedule an in-office Zoom whitening session or get fitted for custom at-home bleaching trays. Dr. Katz is also adept at tooth bonding and veneers, which enhance chipped, broken, or discolored teeth to give your smile a more uniform look.
We are located at 2801 Napoleon Avenue, right across from Ochsner Baptist in uptown New Orleans. There is parking on-site for our patients, and you can take the elevator or stairs to our third floor office to check in for your appointment. We are currently in-network for some major insurance carriers, which means your regular hygiene appointments are typically fully or mostly covered.

The team at Smile Uptown exceeded expectation in every single way. I finally made a dental appointment after several years of going without insurance and was nervous about how things would go. I am a long-time patient and I can’t imagine going anywhere else. In fact, I tried — I moved to the north shore and tried a new dentist office over there. Nope! Our family have been patients with Dr.Kramer for about 30 years. I went in as a young woman who'd had several bad experiences with other dentists and have become confident in any procedure that is needed at Katz and Kramer, no fear. His staff, starting with Ms Vicky are professional, caring and friendly as well. I was a patient of Dr. Kramer for 10 years, and then Dr. Katz when she took over the practice a few years ago. In my opinion Dr. Katz and her team are the best in the city. During normal times, making an appointment, parking and wait times are exactly what you would expect from these professionals. But what happened today demonstrates how far they will go to care for their patients. 3 days ago, I cracked a tooth on small bone in a beef stick. This is a wonderful dental practice—for the first time in my adult life I look forward to going to see a dentist! Dr. Katz is amazing, soft spoken, tender on my teeth, and most important a person who truly cares about what happens to you when you leave her office while you are under her care for a dental problem.
