Dr. Anderson graduated from the LSU School of Dentistry in 2000. Upon graduating dental school, Dr. Anderson began working as an associate dentist under Dr. Ronald Villars in downtown New Orleans. He practiced dentistry in the CBD (central business district) for 9 years and in August of 2009 opened up Mid-City Smiles Family Dentistry.
The majority of anesthesia offered at our office is local anesthetic. This means the anesthesia is given as an injection in the area of the mouth where work is being done. Prior to administering local anesthetic, we apply a topical anesthetic to the gum to numb the area where the injection will be given.
The official site states: Invisalign(R) can give you the beautiful straight teeth you've always wanted. It works through a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners that no one can tell you're wearing. So you can smile more during treatment as well as after. You wear each set of aligners for about 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss.
Cosmetic dentistry concentrates on improving the appearance of a person's teeth, smile and mouth by providing elective - or desired - treatments or services. Cosmetic procedures may also provide restorative benefits. For instance, fillings are a common procedure used to treat decayed teeth. In the past, most dental fillings were composed primarily of gold, amalgam and other materials that left visible dark spots on the teeth.
The dental implant is a titanium post that is surgically placed in the jaw. Most dental implants require a period of approximtely 3 months to osseointegrate with the patient's bone. After this period, an artificial tooth(crown) or teeth is then affixed to the post. Implants are used either as an artificial root or as an anchor for a fixed or removable denture.

I used to love this dental office. Unfortunately, they now overbook to an extreme. Expect to wait a minimum of 30 minutes for any appointment. Do not expect to get in if you have an emergency. I feel bad for the girls who are getting verbally beat up by patients who have rightfully lost their patience with the long wait times and lack of available appointments. I’ve been waiting to be seen for 37 minutes on this visit alone.

My appointment was for 3:15pm. I arrived about 20 minutes early and was seen about 5 minutes later I was attended to by Shannon whom I found to be very friendly and easy to talk to so It made it easy to relax for my cleaning. There was no discomfort during the session yet felt that the cleaning and polishing was thorough and efficiently done. I was then seen by Dr. Hernandez for my second time. She and I agreed on how my dental situation is doing . Holiday greetings were mutually extended and I was out of there . We agreed to do it again in 6 months on June 22 2022 . I came in because my front tooth fell out! Even though I couldn’t get a procedure done due to damages to the rest of my tooth….the administration, examination, and consultation was filled with comfort and reassurance by the receptionist, Dr. Magda and Hernandez. They were amazing! There was someone else who assisted me before I met them I forgot her name I hope she forgives me. She was wearing her pretty black silk hair in a fish braid straight to the back I believe…was extraordinary as well in making sure I knew if not the same day I’d receive assistance ASAP whenever I am ready for it

My old dentist retired. They were good but what a difference! I felt like I stepped into the 21st century. Everything is digital and the equipment was an upgrade too. It's a larger operation, but everything is organized and runs smoothly. There are individual treatment rooms for patients. The wait was so short I hadn't even finished entering my information on the tablet. They discuss your treatment options and I was even given a written estimate on the cost.
My kids are outgrowing their Pediatric Dentist who's fantastic. I've finally found an equivalent replacement for them.

First visit at this office and very happy with all aspects. Easy to schedule appointment and check in was straight forward. Typical forms to fill out. Hygienist did a great job and the Dr. took time to do a thorough exam and answer questions. Just moved to the area but this will be our dental home for now.

I love my dentists! The last appointment was an emergency and they got me in Very quickly even though I am a year and a half over due for a check up. They do not upsell you, they are professional at the same time laid back. Staff is great, art and music are great. I highly recommend. Right on canal with plenty of parking.

I appreciate the prompt response I got from Dr. Anderson after my original review, calling me directly to apologize for what happened. At my rescheduled appointment, he generously offered to make me new Invisalign retainers as a courtesy and followed up on those with a personal phone call as well. Taking into consideration the good experiences I've had in the past, and their attention to things that go awry, I'll keep going here (but still feel some kind of way about how appointment reminder/confirmations are used).

The place is very clean, the staff are super friendly and the location is very convenient to me. I was recommended to get my Invisalign from one of the staffs who work there, Houria. Also another staff, Thao, she had walked me through on how to put on and take them off which was super easy. & Dr. Anderson is super awesome with his patients and the customer service excellent! Just moved to New Orleans a couple of months ago and needed to find a new dentist. Mid-City Smiles had the best rating on Yelp so I figured I'd get an appointment there. I called on a Monday and they asked if they could fit me in that Wednesday! I've never been able to book an appointment that fast! Their location is great and they have a convenient parking lot. The building layout is a little confusing and I ended up having to back track after finding out I was on the third floor. I got there early to fill out paperwork but they were ready for me early too. They got me in on the same day for a dental emergency diagnosis, and followed up with appointment in two days to quickly remedy the problem. Difficult extraction completed in about 20 minutes with no complications and minimal pain afterwards! Thanks Dr. Marin, looking forward to having a dentist in NOLA I can trust and rely on :)

Previous difficulties in contacting a good orthodontist have been resolved period. Fast, efficient, attentive, detailed, professional services with affordable braces for both of my teenage children. I've been going to Dr. Anderson and the team at Mid-City Smiles for about 10 years. They're easy to find in Midcity and have parking in the back, which is a plus!
The office is well appointed with local art and WWOZ playing in the radio. The exam rooms are spotless and I always get into my appointments quickly.
My favorite part is that they send reminder texts about appointments. Since they're a busy office, it's often difficult to get an appointment rescheduled, so, the reminders help in making sure I get there!
My husband also goes here and recently had to have a broken

I originally found them on dental plans.com because they had the best prices for crowns. A few weeks later after procrastinating I eventually broke the tooth, MY FRONT TOOTH. I called them and as a first time patient they made the time to see me. Dr Marin was awesome. I was so pleased with everything. In a few days I will have my tooth fixed and work on a few other things. And to make everything even better the price is lower than I originally thought. I'm so happy I want to pay the price now before the work is even done.

Been coming here for the last 3 ish years and see Dr. Tingstrom for my dental care. All the folks at the front desk are super helpful and the hygienists (I usually have Ms. Betsy) are very good too.
I've been fortunate to only have a couple small fillings replaced and normal cleanings but they did great and I'd highly recommend them for your go to Dentist.

We have been to Mid City Smiles for years. My daughter has been to Mid City Smiles since she was born. I like the staff and the dentist. She dental hygenist here was the first one who actually took the time to show me how to clean my teeth properly, stroke by stroke. I also like that they have Saturday appointment and they call me to remind me about my appts.

I wanted to really get a feel for this office before I wrote a review. I admit, I get extremely nervous when I go to the dentist, but I felt very much at ease here. I came because of so many great reviews, and I'm so glad I did. As long as I am in New Orleans, this will be my dentist's office.
You're immediately greeted as you arrive and check in. Because this place is so busy, unless you are going for your first visit, I wouldn't make a big effort to be super early. On your first visit, there is paperwork to complete.
