I'm so glad I found Dr. Howanitz! After seeing another doctor and being told I needed gum grafts done on my full mouth (!) I went to Dr. Howanitz for a second opinion. She was attentive to my entire medical history, which was super important because so of my other non-dental issues had serious implications for receiving donor tissue. She worked with me to come up with a manageable plan (a frenectomy to avoid needing grafts on some teeth, and a reasonable number of grafts on the teeth that really needed it). She made sure I was comfortable during the procedure, explained everything she was doing

My surgery had many complications from the very beginning. From improper suturing to poor bone grafting. The stitches came out within a day and the bone grafts came out soon after. Dr. Choudhary and his staff would not accept any responsibility for the poor job and accused me of improperly caring for the wound. Every single time I went back to check in on the surgery wound I would come back with more issues.
After each follow-up visit came new problems beyond what was normal — pain, soreness, constant bleeding, loss of bone, infection, and a gaping hole trapping food debris that was a result

Phenomenal practice. I have had two procedures from Dr. Choudhary and both times was in the best of care. If you need a periodontist in the Northern Virginia area this is the one to choose. Their facilities are clean and the atmosphere is professional. The front desk secretary is kind and answers questions respectfully. Overall best periodontal practice in Northern Virginia.

I recently had an unusual procedure done: removing a torai. Dr. Choudhary did the procedure which involves cutting and removing excess bone under my tongue. Sounds scary, but Dr. C was superb from start to finish. Actually every single person at this practice is outstanding. They took care of me, calmed my anxiety, checked on me after the procedure was done, including over a wkend. I'll go back next month to have the other side done w/out hesitation. I would recommend this practice to anyone needing oral surgery.

Saw Dr. Choudhary and team for a cracked tooth I had to get fixed. He recommended an implant, the first one I've ever had, so I was a bit nervous about it. But Dr. Choudhary and his whole team made me feel at ease right from the beginning and walked me through the whole process. The entire experience has been a lot easier than I ever thought it would be, and that's a testament to the doctor and his team there, and their great bedside manner.
