Chestnut Lake Camp provides campers with an environment where they feel comfortable and confident in who they are as a person. The most important ingredient to our success is a skilled, caring staff who work tirelessly to Bring Out each camper's Character, Leadership and Confidence (their "CLC"). Beads and Gemstones are two of the many ways we inspire our campers to show off their CLC.
During our daily line-ups, we recognize campers and staff who have created special moments for others through their generosity, friendship, courage, helpfulness or gratitude. Anyone in our community can be awarded a bead for their achievement. While campers wear their beads as a symbol of Chestnut Lake pride, the true value of the bead is shown when a camper gives their beads away to recognize someone else's CLC.

Services
Located just 2 1/2 hours from New York City and Philadelphia, our unsurpassed facilities are set on 200 acres in Wayne County, Pennsylvania. As you enter our gates, you immediately get a feeling that Chestnut Lake is a special place. Friendship, spirit and excitement can be seen and heard all throughout camp.
From the moment our campers wake up, until their heads hit the pillow at night, our action-packed days are designed to provide your child with an exciting environment where they can learn, laugh, play and enjoy their summer vacation. We believe that combining structure and choice into our program allows our campers to experience all aspects of camp, build strong bonds with their friends and get the most out of their summer.
Sports at Chestnut Lake play an important role in developing self-esteem and allowing a child to grow as a person. From team sports to individual sports, the Chestnut Lake program challenges campers of all athletic abilities in the most supportive and encouraging environment.
While our highly skilled staff offer great instruction, we have purposefully designed the program to allow kids to be kids, enjoy the carefree days of summer and play for the "fun" of the game.Personalized Instruction: For the advanced athlete (or camper looking to improve their skills), we provide opportunities for additional intense play and individual instruction through our 2-day Sports Specialty Camps and rest hour clinics.

There are moments that leave lasting images in our minds: standing up on waterskis for the first time, canoeing with your bunkmates, catching your first fish, learning how to hoist a sail, being launched off the water trampoline, winning a race in the swim meet. The Chestnut Lake program offers campers an opportunity to canoe, kayak, sail, waterski, tube, banana boat, pedal boat and fish.
The CLC outdoor adventure program encourages campers to step out of their comfort zone. Our Zip Line, Flying Squirrel, Climbing Wall, High Ropes Course, Vertical Playpen, Archery, Mountain Biking and Nature & Science Center offer campers the opportunity to try something new and feel that overwhelming sense of accomplishment as they reach new heights.

If you read my other review, please DISREGARD it! I was given wrong information by someone in the office who didn’t realize I had booked for a rally. Another employee, Anna, called me and explained that she IS trying to fit all 14 rigs together and there ISN’T a charge for cable. I am so glad that she called me back. Proves that they do read the reviews. Awesome!

Last summer was my son’s first year at CLC and he absolutely loved it. He was there for all 7 weeks (both sessions) and would have stayed even longer if he could!! He keeps asking me how many more days until he leaves again for camp! Paul and Debbi are wonderful as are all of the staff. The facilities are all updated and new and the camp itself is beautiful. my son made so many friends, too. He loves the lake as there are a ton of water activities. When I watched the video when we were first thinking of camp and I saw all of the amazing stuff, I thought no way could it be this great. But, after

This is an amazing camp experience! My children absolutely loved their time there. So much so, they will be going back in a few short weeks. Everything from the bunks to the activities and awesome staff. Paul and Debbi (The camp Directors) and counselors really make the children, and parents feel like they are part of an extended family. Its all about inclusiveness while exploring individual growth through new experiences. The time my children have had at Chestnut Lake is something they will take with them rest of their lives.

A camp like no other - We chose this camp after touring several in the area and it was a very easy choice for my boy/girl twins. They were instantly in love with the camp's whole vibe and environment and Paul and Debbie are the amazing directors responsible for both. The grounds are beautiful and really well equipped without being needlessly fancy. The camp has something for all kids from robotics and the radio station to traditional activities like sports and drama. What is so wonderful is that the camp is steeped in tradition even though it is only about 10 years old. They have infused the camp

I can't say enough good things about Chestnut Lake Camp. My daughter has gone the past 3 years and has absolutely loved it. Paul & Debbi (Camp Directors) are amazing. The camp facilities are first rate.
They have it all including a gorgeous lake front, pool, movie theater, art studios, gymnastics gym, video and recording studios. And they have the nicest counselors. If you're looking for a summer camp, make sure you look at Chestnut Lake.

This is an amazing camp! From beginning to end, I was impressed with everything about it. The directors are warm and wonderful and the counselors seem to know just the right things to say to connect with the kids. They really focused on keeping all kids engaged and feeling included. The facilities are up to date and clean. There is a wide variety of activities to choose from for each age group and there are lots of really cool evening events that bring together the entire camp. Communication from the camp is fantastic. From being provided with packing lists, to pictures posted to scheduled calls

Chestnut Lake proves to be the perfect camp for our daughter. The Directors genuinely care about each camper and provide a structured and nurturing environment. This allows each camper to flourish, become more independent (without their parents) and create lasting friendships. The Camp offers a wide range of activities which provide opportunities for campers to experience new things while also participating in activities that they love. We would recommend Chestnut Lake to anyone that is looking for a well rounded sleep away camp experience.

My kids have spent six glorious summers at CLC and it truly is their happy place. A camp's atmosphere and values start at the top and we couldn't ask for better role models than Paul and Debbi Schorey. The sense of community, of teamwork and good sportsmanship, of trying things outside your comfort zone all start with them. The broad range of activities, the wonderful staff, chance to get to know international counselors and fellow campers all add to the wonderful experience that makes each summer "the best summer yet!" The leap in independence and confidence I've seen in my kids after each summer

This summer camp is one of the best experiences a kid could have. The friends I made at Chestnut Lake are some of my best friends, and the counselors I've had are amazing, fun, and funny! The camp activities are incredible -- sports, lake, art -- there's something for everyone, and campers never, ever get bored during their stay. There is so much to do during the day, and every night there's a different activity to keep you laughing and having fun. I love the sports competitions too! It's great to play against our neighbor camps. And the Chestnut Lake tribal war within our own camp is something
