Johnny's

A local eatery that is consistently good and is priced fairly. The wait staff is friendly, efficient, and professional. The food is tasty and substantial, mostly. Some plates are larger than others. Don’t expect to get full eating fish. The Cobb salad is amazing. The desserts delicious.

Man ole man, this place was hiding from me. Like, literally tucked in a corner of a plaza on Roland Avenue. This place is great. The staff is extremely professional and well versed in the menu-friendly as well. The berry Christmas cocktail was amazing. The crab bisque was so I good I order a second on for dessert 😅. The salmon dish was great too, but if you like soup and crab- get the soup!

First time at Johnny's! Surprised it took me so long to make it here but I'm glad we came in December to see the Christmas decorations at the bar! It was super cute and fun. They even had holiday cocktails to go with! Definitely recommend to get in the Christmas spirit!

I ordered the crispy chicken burger, it was good! I was scared it would be dry but it wasn't! It was juicy and quite delicious.

My husband ordered the salmon, it was really good, cooked perfectly. Crispy and delicious skin and the sauce, sweet potato purée, and spinach was all delicious together!

The restaurant

Miranda our server was exceptional. The ambience and food is very warm and stellar. We look forward to coming back soon. Our entire party loved everything they ordered.

Johnny's is one of those places that has promise, and seems like it often almost breaks out of the "just okay" into the "very good" but not quite. And the few items where they excel just aren't enough to get that fourth star.

First, the good. They sometimes have a corn soup that is outstanding. Truly a delicious treat that I would order every time it's on the menu. The crab bisque is good, but a bit too thin and a bit too sweet. The kale salad is quite good, and adding salmon can make it into a meal in and of itself.

This is a favorite of mine in Roland Park. It's gorgeous and homey inside with a great menu, great drinks, and amazing deserts.

For brunch the fried rice is so amazing! It's literally one of my favorite things I have ever eaten.

For dinner, my favorite thing is the Turkey burger. Super moist and always a fan favorite!

Visited here with family. It is a local spot they visit a lot! The food was great! We enjoyed The fried oysters my husband ordered a turkey burger and I tried the brisket!

Everything was great! And the dipping sauce was amazing! You must try the old bay aïoli!

I also order a Johnny dream sickle drink and A French 75 - both were great!

We had a team lunch at Johnny’s and the staff were fantastic in catering to our large group. We were able to sample all their appetizers, much of their menu, and all of the amazing cookies (personally, the mocha ones are probably the best cookies I’ve ever had)! We topped off the meal with a great cup of cappuccino.
Great atmosphere, nice location, and - even though it’s tight - not bad parking either.

In a city that has a lot of great affordable food options, I found this place overpriced for what it is. I ordered brisket tacos which were $25. They were good, but not 25 dollars good. They had the place set up with a Harry Potter theme which was also underwhelming. A few banners and posters, a small number of HP themed drinks isn't worth a special trip.

Everyone in my party thought the Harry Potter themed drinks were too sweet and those were also $13.

This place seems really popular but I'm not sure why. This is on the higher end of Baltimore's price point but not on the higher

The service was really good. Our Waiter Clarence took really good care of us. Our happy hour drink (cranberry whisky sour)was really good. So was the shrimp tempura appetizer. The old bay aioli sauce really had a ton of good flavor. The only thing I would recommend would be to add some more flavor to the spaghetti and meatballs. The sauce was a little runny and lacked taste.

Good was delicious, but customer service was lacking. Even though we made a reservation, we had to wait about 25 minutes to actually be seated. The food was delicious; the shrimp ceviche was amazing, although the shrimp could have been cut in smaller pieces, and the fish and chips was good as well. Unfortunately, the waitress only checked up on us once after dinner was served and I had to search the restaurant for her to order another drink. Overall, the experience was nice, although a bit frustrating at times due to the bad customer service.

Was not disappointed with our dining experience at Johnny's. We ate inside, what character the restaurant has! Covid protocol was followed by all. The staff was very knowledgeable and attentive. The food was delicious. Looking forward to returning again soon!

Had a little date night with the hubs and chose indoor dining because it had rained earlier and even though outdoor seating is covered, I didn't want to deal with random drops hitting me. Of course, it didn't rain, lol!
Every single time we're at Johnny's is great although I much prefer having lunch there than dinner. I've done both and love both but Johnny's is a lunch spot for me.

I met a friend for lunch at Johnny's this past weekend, and I'm surprised by its poor Yelp rating/reviews. I had a great experience at Johnny's. The weather was gorgeous, so we enjoyed our brunch on their lovely patio out front (but the inside of the restaurant looked great as well). The service was great even though they were a little busy. I was really excited to try Johnny's, as I've heard nothing but great things. The drinks were awesome (had the Johnny Smash?) And the ambiance was very pleasing. Everyone enjoyed their meal, but me. I'm not very picky, so I asked the server about the Cuban on the menu, as you don't see them often and I wanted something different. She said it was amazing, so I was sold. It came on what seemed like French bread which wasn't toasted. It tasted honestly like straight vinegar. Wasn't the best meal I've had, and that's being nice. Other than the Cuban, everything was great. Oatmeal cookie was legit.

Liked the food and the patio was airy and lovely. Quite a crowd on Sunday, but smooth flow. Would go back and try other menu items. The Oysters were excellent. Our table had a variety of food, all really well presented and done.

Visiting for first time at 5PM on a H-O-T weekday in August. They have probably 10 parking spots available (all were gone by 6) and indoor and outdoor seating (with umbrellas overlooking the parking lot). We had a 5:30 outdoor reservation and arrived early so sat at the bar and had some of their Happy Hour ($5 small watermelon margaritas and $22 for a small pitcher of Blackberry Plum Sangria...served about 3.5 glasses...and the $5 "snack" which was 3 bites of grilled beef (on sticks) with roasted red pepper sauce). I dropped in to have a drink on their Whiskey Wednesday (half priced whiskey drinks). My overall experience was good. I look forward to coming back to try brunch.

So today I visit in the afternoon after not visiting for about 2 years. I came in on this day because it was my friend's birthday and she really wanted to come here. Last couple times I visited the menu was quite limited.
Well, the menu is nice and full these days. There were so many options to pick from that it took me a while to make a selection.

Oh wait, let me start by saying, when I first entered the young lady knew exactly who I was and acknowledged that I was there for my friend's birthday as stated on the reservation previously submitted.

Three of us had brunch on a Saturday and enjoy our day. It reflected the quality in most items of the Cindy Wolf and Tony Foreman that you expect.

The only item that was lacking was the Chicken Tortellini Soup that I started with. Then came the Smoked Salmon it had finely chopped red onions, eggs, chives, capers and crème fresh vs cream cheese and it made the dish. I would eat the Salmon everyday if I lived closer. The other diners had cheeseburgers and cooked perfect with tons on extra items including an egg. Just kept raving about how good they were and liked that you could order other items

So glad I finally tried this place! Great food. Ordered to go for Easter. Kale salad was excellent. The only reason not 5 stars is I received 3 shrimp, and for $20 salad you'd hope for a few more, especially when they are tasty :) also had fish n chips, which was great! Look forward to trying more food and sitting outside one day!

We recently moved to the area, and Johnny's is one of our favorite places. The burgers are particularly good! They package their carry out orders very nicely, and they never take too long. When we start going back to restaurant again, Johnny's will be one of the first places we go to.

Ridiculously disappointing takeout experience at Johnny's tonight. I ordered a burger and a specialty coffee at 5:50 PM. Pickup time was denoted as 6:50. I arrived at 6:46 PM and called to let them know I was there. I got out of my car around 6:55 to check on my order. Several people were waiting outside for pickup orders. At 7:10 I went inside to ask about order status and shared that my order was supposed to be picked up at 6:50. I was told it would be another 5-10 minutes. No apology. I’ve been coming to Johnny’s for years and always have a great experience. Lately, with the new COVID measures in place, the staff has been handling it very responsibly. The food is always amazing and the prices are definitely fair. We always leave with leftovers. They have an excellent collection of whiskies and wine. There are mid week specials too, like a burger night that I happened upon one time and it felt too good to be true. Love you, Johnny’s!

Came here for brunch, can't wait to come back! A unique menu that satisfies everyone in a large group. Down home cooking with excellent drinks. Really liked the outdoor seating and extra covid precautions. I'd suggest making a reservation.

The food is awesome. So is the management which gets 10 on 10 for regulating COVID precautionary measures inside the restaurant. The 1 hour restricted sitting time is enough to savor the amazing cuisine and dessert. I highly recommend this place. Also, really good for mid-size family dining/get together.

Surprised Johnny's doesn't have a higher score because the food is generally very good. I have mostly been for dinner, but I have been there for brunch a few times and I think their dinner food is better.

Among the things I've had that were very good are the fried green tomatoes, oysters both raw and fried, tempura shrimp, several fish entrees including salmon and blackfish ones, and a very delicious beet and goat cheese salad that I've had several times because it was so good. They don't seem to always have dinner specials but they do have some good happy hour specials
