Growing up in Seattle as a kid I was fascinated by my bike. Of course like other kids who would later become mechanics, I had to tinker. When something went wrong I would grab whatever "tool" was available to try to fix a problem. At the age of 9, I tried to remove a tire and my "tool" of choice at that time was mom's butter knife.
Yep, you guessed it, I bent the knife! I then tried a screwdriver which finally worked. Don't try this at home! My love of bikes' thus began and my choice of tools improved! Into my pre-teens and teen years I rode my bike everywhere, trips to Mercer Island to ride the loop, off to Kenmore to ride around the north end of Lake Washington.

Cleaning a bicycle, chain cleaning and washing the rest of your bicycles' drivetrain are the most important things you can do to extend the life of your bicycle parts and check the integrity of your frame, fork and components at the same time. I just want to say Joe really loves fixing bikes, he's great at it, and he is just wonderfully honest. I had an issue that I thought meant the bike was unsafe.
I thought the previous owner had crashed the carbon bike, hid the damage, and sold it to me. I had mentally prepared myself to pay around $500 to get it fixed.
He came and looked at the bike and explained the damage wasn't from a crash and gave me a simple fix. I would have been happy to pay him and offered to do so, but he refused.
I don't really know people whose job is to fix things, that drive to your house,

Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, Value
Joe, came out and took a look at our 4 bikes that had been smashed by a fallen tree. We were so grateful, he was able to make them look like new. He was very responsive and easy to talk to. He does great work and knows his stuff. Thank you Joe.

Joe tuned two bikes that I recently purchased and put together. These bikes are for when we go camping so I don't ride very often not do I know anything about bikes. Fortunately, I knew enough to get the bikes tuned before riding and I'm glad I called Joe.
He educated me on some basic bikes care and did an awesome job on the bikes. Joe definitely knows his stuff!

Last year I bought a ebike on Amazon. Although the frame and motor seem pretty well made, the bicycle components were not adequate to handle the loads of a electric motor. Joe was instrumental in getting my ebike to perform properly. He replaced defective and worn parts. He replaced all of the drive train parts. If you own a mid motor Bafang motor, toss out the lousy chainring and replace it with a Luna which helps keep the chain in line with the derailleur and freewheel. Thanks to Joe,TheBicyclefixer,my ebike is working properly.

Joe is very responsive and knowledgable. I contacted him to fix my wife's bike, which is very old and seldom used, and he responded to my email right away.
His work was very thorough and his commitment to service and customer satisfaction is excellent. I would highly recommend his services, especially given he can come to you!

I met Joe at a cross race when my son broke his derailleur. Joe offered to order the parts, fix the bike and return it to my home before the next weekend. By Thursday morning the parts didnt arrive when expected. Rather than return the bike to me later than promised Joe found a local store that had the part, drove the bike to my house and repaired it right in our driveway. He also adjusted the hubs and spent time explaining to my son what he worked on. He clearly loves what he does, knows his stuff and goes the extra mile. I will definitely call him again and recommend him to anyone looking

Joe is a consummate bike mechanic professional - highly skilled, detail oriented, and with a wealth of experience to ensure that your bike leaves perfectly dialed in.
I'm a former bike racer that wanted to swap out some "racer"-y parts off my bike into something that fit a little better with my current riding style. I found Joe via google, and figured out quickly that he knew his stuff after a short conversation. I had a somewhat idiosyncratic crankset setup, and he understood exactly what I had and what I was looking for. When we met up just a couple of days after touching

Recently, I bought a used Specialized FSR dual suspension bike. I checked local bicycle shops for the cost of a tune up. They all quoted about the same price. Based upon the bike fixer's (Joe) experience fixing bikes and that he would come to my house to tune up my bike, I chose him.
I was not disappointed. I watched Joe work. He was meticulous in his work. He tuned the bike to perfection. He adjusted the brakes, replaced the left shifter and a cassette, a brake line, trued the wheels, lubed the chain, etc. All at a reasonable rate. Just watching him work and talking to him, it
