Had a really bad experience with this bike shop.
Had my chain and gears replaced and ever since they jumped, then had a full service and also had them replace a flat tyre which went flat again the same day.
I went back there 3 times trying to get these things fixed before i gave upon the owners rude conduct and shops general incopetance.
Took my bike to a new shop where they found glass in my tyre which Bikeworks didnt remove when changing the tyre. Also they said that the chain and gears were the cheapest you can buy and needed replacing after 1 month. The new bike shop also found that my wheel

Great second hand bike for the price, serviced well, they were happy to make some minor adjustments for free too (e.g. handlebar and seat height). Friendly staff, know what they're talking about, aren't coming out with any sleazy salesman BS either, unlike another bike shop I checked out in the area.

Bikeworks has quickly become my go to bike repair shop because of the friendly, professional and trustworthy staff. I have visited twice with some pretty big repair jobs and on both occasions Mike broke down the cost for me so that I understood where the money was going and gave me confidence that the price was fair. On top of that the repair was done incredibly quickly.

I booked onto Bikeworks'intermediate maintenance course and had a great time. David was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly explained things in detail. We went into things in depth and allowed everyone to have a good go of things before moving on.
We were also able to work on specific problems our bikes were having and learn more broadly from each other. David was very happy to give tips on how to look after your bike beyond the topics officially covered by the course and I feel much more confident in doing work on my own bike.
Would definitely recommend!

Ive visited this place twice after my bike got damaged, once for my brakes (fixing my gear shifts and cogs) and unresponsive brake pads which are a very important safety aspect, and again to get a tyre puncture fixed as well as chain replacements. At this point the gentleman who works there has had to fix many things for me on my bike since it was quite old and has been very helpful in doing so. He often advised me to fix things such as the chain which did indeed become an issue and i later realised how smoothly i was able to use my bike once fixed. I also was in a rush when i visited as i work

Purchased a bike from Bikeworks recently and have been very pleased. I was a total bike newbie and didn't really know what size I would need. Their policy with covid was no test rides, but the person I spoke to on the phone helped me get a good idea of sizing over the phone, patiently answered tons of my questions, and had the bike ready for pickup later that same day. They were super helpful and knowledgeable! I was nervous buying a bike sight unseen, but they had a 30-day window to return the bike if I didn't like it or needed something else. Turns out it was a perfect choice. I love

Great service for a very fair price. Had to check my breaks again after they were not adjusted in another shop. Mike has not just helped but probably prevented an accident since the problem was not even with the breaks but with the loose front wheel. Thanks a lot for you help! We fixed wheel and adjusted breaks for me and bought and installed seat pole for my husband’s bike. All took about 20 minutes. Can’t recommend more! Thanks for your work, guys!

I was in the market for a bicycle and finally found the one at Bike Works. Their online web store makes it easy to browse and see if they have a bike in your size and specifications. I was able to call ahead to the store and give my bike a test ride and then purchase. I also asked for fenders to be installed. I was helped mostly by Kellan, appreciated his assurance and knowledge. Also bought a lock and rear light from them at the same time when I picked up my bike. Overall very good experience with both purchase, service, pricing. You can find a bicycle for cheaper on Craigslist but 90% it was

Almost all bike shops have great service and a great attitude but these guys are different. They are really a charity but are still a great bike shop. Prices are reasonable on service- they replaced my popped tube for $12 in 15 minutes. I have given at least 3 old crappy bikes to them and they still want them although they all needed a ton of work and they probably just ended up taking the parts off.
Their used bikes are a great option for those that don't want to spend $1000 on a bike if they aren't sure they really will ride it. The used bikes are a little more expensive than

Truly a fan of this place and all they represent. I've stopped by several times to shop for parts, a bike, or just to ask question. Each time I've been met with helpful folks who answer questions honestly and graciously. Yesterday was no different.
I stopped by on my seemingly never-ending quest for a bike. Nick showed me what they had then realized that they didn't have frames in my size so he sent me over to talk to Steve in the warehouse.
Guys, Steve is solid. Knew his stuff, shot it straight, and went above and beyond in trying to help me find something that would (1) fit

First let me say - that I used to love this place. I have been supporting this group for years. I have toured the warehouses, bought a bike here, used their service department, bought parts, etc. I love the vision and the ideals initially intended for this group.
I also know we are helping people, teaching skills and responsibilities. If that is the case, I feel we have a rudderless ship. If there is anyone in charge, they are not teaching good business skills for the future transition.
My story: I needed a total tune-up including brake cables. Got a quote from my local shop (that does good work

Just moved to Columbia City from San Francisco. I wanted to find a "city bike" for weekend rides and was checking Craigslist. Th prices were really cheap. Then I thought about all those slasher movies and bad deals gone wrong or "too good to be true" deals my Dad warned me about.
My partner and I were exploring our new hood last Saturday and saw a directional sign to BW. We arrived and went inside to a mob scene. I asked one of the gentlemen, when is a good time to come back? Monday he immediately replied. We came back at lunch time and met Steven. Wow! Nice, knowledgeable

First visit: I knew of Bike Works long before I moved to Seattle, but was uncertain what the shop would be like. Even though my visit coincided with a street fair, the folks working/volunteering in the shop were very helpful and directed me to various items and helped me with a test ride.
The folks who answer the phone and work there more often are very knowledgable and aren't the typical bike-dude-who-knows-it-all-better-than-you. I was happy to see a variety of folks working, not just guys. Prices and inventory are awesome.
Second visit (first work): some of the folks who seem to me
