Smoke Hole Resort
Smoke Hole Caverns is family owned and operated. Our family has a deep respect for the history and heritage of this spectacular mountain tourist destination. Our profound appreciation for the mountain highland region located in the Seneca Rocks/Spruce Knob National Recreational Area comes from our roots that trace back several generations.

We are a family that pays personal attention to every detail and strives to ensure perfection, from the beauty of the landscaping to the level of amenities, southern hospitality and the quality of log architecture. Over the past 30 years in the making, Smoke Hole Caverns has now become a destination resort that keeps growing and striving to meet the needs of the public.

We originally reserved a room but upgraded to a cabin and we are glad we did. Very peaceful and enjoyable. My husband and I have not had a lot of time alone, but since he retired from the Military we try and now that we have found you we know where to go to get away. We will be back. I think this will be a yearly vacation.
Smoke Hole Resort is located just 13 miles north of Seneca Rocks, WV and offers 80 well-appointed noted accommodations in its collection of private family lodging units, cozy cottages, RV spots, and private log cabins. All are outfitted with rustic decor and offer all the privacy needed for a quiet and relaxing vacation retreat.
This cozy log cabin features an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings and a taste of rustic elegance that resembles a charming mountain resort. The living area has one queen or one king bed viewing our real woodburning fireplaces. It offers a fully equipped kitchen with stovetop, sink and full-size refrigerator.
Family Log Cabins are perfect for your family getaway. The Cabins sleep 6 people with 2 queen beds and 2 twin beds, in 2 bedrooms and a loft. For family cook-outs, each cabin includes a fully equipped kitchen and a charcoal grill, with picnic tables outside. After the day's activities, you can all gather together around the wood-burning fireplace or woodstove in the living room.

After cleaning for 1 1/2 hours when we first checked in, the rest of our stay was nice. We enjoyed the people and the surroundings but the cleanliness of the cabin could be better.

The cottages are a little dated, but super clean and functional. AC worked good and kept it ice cold for us. Water was hot and kitchen was well stocked. TV and WIFI was a BIG POSITIVE, since our Sprint phones had limited service. Even though the cottages are right beside each other, they are very private. The only time we heard or saw anyone was when we drove in or out.
If your planning on fishing, these are the cottages to stay at. Great location and easy access to the creek.
Staff was amazing and willing the helps with any of our needs. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Had the pleasure to stay in a cottage and visit Smokehole lodge and gift shop, most hospitable and kind staff, helped us out due to our late arrival to the area..they had our cottage ready for us when we arrived, lights on and air conditioning going, during a statewide heatwave, very thoughtful, owner operator of the lodge/gift shop was very kind sweet lady and talked with us as if she had known us personally. Cottage was very clean and a nice location, highly recommend visiting the smokehole attraction, and if you stay at a cottage or cabin, you will not be disappointed. Thank you all for a wonderful

Nice place to relax. Checking in was confusing, as it's not at the sight. Went wirh siblings to reminisce about childhood visits and to honor our late father.

Paradise. It's where you go to get away from everything it's Central to a lot of fishing lakes. It's only an hour from Spruce Knob Lake which is Paradise on Earth. The cost is not terrible but could be less. Every year I come down with a group of 13 to 14 people and we go fishing for a long weekend. Never had an issue with property or the owners. Always clean and usually upgraded little bit every year. Highly recommended.

We had an extended stay here (2 weeks) and originally they did a nice job with bringing new towels and bedding every couple days but by week 2, all that got replaced was towels. The cottage was relatively cleanbut lots of dead bugs in cracks and corners. Wifi was an advertised feature but it never worked, even after they sent a repair guy out. The location and general area are very nice.
