We are Jamie and Daniel Marsh, the new owners of The Golden Anchor Cabins. Natives of West Virginia, we first fell in love with the property and Canaan Valley when we spent our first anniversary at The Royale cabin. It is our sincerest wish that our guests fall in love with our cabins and strengthen their relationship while staying at the Anchor just as we did.

Romance and relaxation are your companions at our Classic cabin, offering all you need for a luxury cabin getaway in West Virginia. Built with couples in mind, this cabin offers a cozy Queen-sized bed, shower for two and a gas-log fireplace. Classic features huge 18' x 26' rear deck with a privacy fence, outdoor seating and a 6' x 6' Jacuzzi hot tub.
Queen cabin is one of the most romantic cabins in West Virginia. We designed and built our Queen cabin specifically for a couple celebrating a honeymoon, anniversary or special occasion. We renovated Queen to include all the necessary modern amenities and beautiful furnishings to make this the perfect romantic getaway.
Escape to one of our most stunning West Virginia mountain cabins, our King cabin. With views that won't stop, this cabin is perfect for couples who want to enjoy a romantic relaxing weekend. What a fantastic find!! My wife stumbled upon this place searching online and let me tell you it was well worth honeymooning in out own back yard so to speak. Beautiful wood work, decor and amenities, very luxurious and the privacy was well worth every penny spent. We are looking forward to going back on our 1st wedding anniversary. The staff was very friendly and I highly recommend this place.

It was an overall great experience. The cabin was superb (the majestic cabin). The owners are very warm, welcoming, accommodating. The area is breath taking, though the sites are far apart from each other but well worth the drive. We highly recommend Gaudineer Overlook. You will create everlasting memories. We look forward to returning.

Wife and I stayed at the Meadow (Nov 7-10) for our 1st anniversary! The owners gave us an unexpected change of cabins and we were so happy they did. The Meadow was amazing. The views are spectacular. The cabin is upscale and has everything you need for a stay. This was our third time at Golden Anchor (different cabin every time) and every stay has been well worth it!
These cabins are highly recommended.
There are a ton of outdoor activities to do in close proximity. Hiking, skiing, horse back riding and biking to name a few.

We just had our first stay at the Royale cabin. Every moment of it was perfect! The cabin was so beautiful and we didn't want to leave!! The perks were WELL worth it! The bed was spacious and comfy! The hot tub was fantastic! The temp worked perfectly! Sitting in the hot tub, under the stars with a glass of champagne was everything. It was nice and quiet our whole stay. Having morning coffee on the porch to the sound of mooing was something I'll never forget. The cabin was cleaner than any place my husband I have ever stayed!! The floors, kitchen, table tops, and bathroom were impressively clean

We stayed in the classic cabin which is beautifully designed. Upon entering the cabin, we were greeted by wonderful smells & I immediately noticed that the cabin was impeccably clean. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom large & updated, & the kitchen has everything that we needed. The private hot tub is the icing on the cake! We had a fabulous stay & you can tell how much thought & care the owners put into the overall cabin experience. Highly recommend!
P.S. If you are visiting in the winter make sure you are in a four wheel drive vehicle made for mountain roads. We got stuck trying to leave

My husband and I stayed here mid-August and couldn't have been more pleased. The cabin was beautiful and clean - just as pictured on the website - and the hot tub was fantastic. It's also a great location, with easy drives to Blackwater Falls, Canaan Valley Resort, and Seneca Rocks. It was a bit rainy during our stay, which gave us the opportunity to sit on the lovely porch and listen to the rain. We can't wait to come back!

Absolutely stunning in every aspect. Beautiful cabins, clean, well kept... The hot tub was so nice to relax in! Close to many area attractions, with helpful info from the owners to get you started on just about any trek or adventure you are interested in... We are already planning for when we can visit again!

This cabin was more than we could ever imagine. After a long and grueling trip from New York by car, we were so pleasantly surprised. The pictures don’t do it any justice! I woke up to a plane taking off from the picturesque window in the bedroom. The views are incredible. The cabin was very private and close to area attractions. We wish we had more time to just lay around and enjoy the cabin, but we were in the area for a wedding. The kitchen was stocked with everything you need, including spices. They even had frosty mugs in the freezer waiting for us. The hot tub was at a perfect temperature

Three years in a row and it will be four next year! There’s a reason they call it “Almost Heaven” and Golden Anchor is one of the many reasons. Jamie and Daniel have thought of everything and you can easily tell the passion they have for making your stay nearly perfect.
