Restoring relationships through addressing core needs and fears while creating strong secure bonds. We are all born into relationships and the nature of those relationships shape who we are and who we will become. It is my mission to help others create healthy, satisfying relationships; first within themselves and then with the many people they interact with.
Focus on what clients want to achieve through therapy rather than on the problem(s) that made them seek help. Work with families and couples in intimate relationships to nurture change and development. Emotionally focused & relational.

Hello, my name is Tierra Youngblood-Field. I completed my undergraduate at Grand Valley State University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Health Professions and Psychology. I will provide an environment where you feel that your experiences are understood and accepted. With this type of relationship, we can explore old experiences and identify new experiences that you would like to have. The outcome of counseling cannot be guaranteed, but honesty will increase the likelihood of you having a successful experience.
The first session is never conducted in the home. The therapist and that client both have to agree that In-home sessions are appropriate and the best option. After the initial appointment, the client and therapist will discuss future options to determine if virtual/In-home/ or Office visits work best.
Family Psychoeducation 6-week-program with a focus on addiction. This is different from family therapy in that, with this approach, the illness is the object of treatment, not the family. The goal is that I work together with families to support recovery. Research shows that consumer outcomes improve if families receive information and support (Dixon et al., 2001).
Group therapy is the number one choice for treating adolescents in general. But this approach is very effective for adolescents who've experienced trauma. Most adolescents spend majority of their time in groups, being with peers, and are more comfortable with peers than with adults.
The group, which provides a holding and support, comes to be felt as the "mother group" (Scheidlinger, 1974), and becomes a transitional object for the adolescent, allowing the adolescent to proceed along the normal developmental pathways. This is a 20-week group that focuses on trauma. There is limited space in that 8 individuals are screened and selected.
